Marcus Smart is singlehandedly killing Boston. Dumb shots and dumber passes. Tyler Herro is legit. I’m a huge fan.
Great drafting, great scouting, great coaching. Year in and year out. I think the ridiculous super-team kind of obscured how good the actual org is under Riley and Spoelstra.
There was a recent article by the ringer on duncan robinson, detailing how they scouted and guided Robinson from the draft to gleague to the nba. It showed how involved, smart and dedicated the organization was to an undrafted prospect, from the scout to the head coach. Great piece. Highly recommend a read. https://www.theringer.com/nba/2020/9/17/21439778/duncan-robinson-miami-heat-boston-celtics-playoffs
Why did Theis take that inbound then? Surely you get your best passer on the job if you need a miracle catch and shoot 3?
Herro is already better than 10 of the 12 players selected ahead of him. Only Zion and Morant are objectively better. Lol @ Knicks with Barrett.
I don't really care about either team. But I am rooting for Miami just because I don't want another Lakers-Celtics finals. If Denver somehow beat the Lakers, then it doesn't matter.
He doesn’t have Ray Allen’s hops but I think he can be as great as Allen was when he was the star on those Bucks and Sonics teams. Kid has great court awareness and no fear of the big lights.
Tyler Herro is why you don’t give away draft picks year after year after year. We should know that too... we got Clint for example. he’s great. Definite all star potential. seperately.... Zone defense might start needing a discussion. Well practiced teams have become really good at it and perhaps equally important with the reduction in the mid range game - not just by the Rockets - offenses don’t seem as capable of attacking it.
Pat Riley’s drafting/scouting abilities have been insane recently. He’s got potential superstars from his 13th (Herro) and 14th (Bam) picks as well as finding a very nice role player in Robinson from the bargain bin.
It's wild - the Miami offense in that fourth quarter looked absolutely stifled until it hit the rookie Herro's hands. Nothing was happening until he touched the ball. Was the best player in this game by a mile, though Bam did OK too. Credit has to be given to that Kentucky system..
