Dream Scenario. Not happening but I'm putting it into the universe. If MDA goes to Indy, we have a trade partner for Eric. Brogdon or Turner are likely candidates. They want to turn Victor into James Harden. Eric Gordon was the secret weapon to unleash James in year one of MDA. He will try to recreate that. I think Turner is more likely but I'll stick with Brogdon. https://tradenba.com/trades/9qgR3kPgk If Giannis demands a new star, Russ would be a likely candidate as he's available and under contract long term-ish. I think a trade involving Robin Lopez + picks is more likely but I'll stick with this for scenario 1. https://tradenba.com/trades/H7Aiivkjh Brogdon/Hill Harden / Ben Middleton House / PJ Covington / DJ/ Bruno That's a championship team. Let's look at some various combinations. Eric going out to Indy is my constant. Indy has a bunch of players that we are probably all overrating and there are three clearly ahead of Turner and Brogdon in the eyes of Indy. TJ Warren and Victor are set in stone for next season. Sabonis is perfect for MDA he's not going anywhere. If MDA really wants to turn Victor into a PG, Eric would be phenomenal and paying Brogdon 20 a season to play of the bench isn't wise. If MDA wants to go smaller like he did here, you trade Turner for Eric and start Eric at the 3. Turner and Sabonis are unlikely to both stay in Indy and that's probably a more reasonable target. Russ/ Brogdon / Ben Covington / House Harden PJ / Bruno This may be the secret to unleash Russ. Add another shooting guard next to him, move Harden to the PF, which is probably his natural position afterall. Russ Harden / Ben Covington / House PJ Myles Turner Here we go a bit bigger. Still a four out but with a bit more versatility with a big-man like Turner. Let's look at some combos. Harden / Hill Middleton / Ben Covington / House PJ / DJ Myles Turner / Bruno Brogdon / Hill Harden Ben Covington / House PJ / DJ BroLo / Bruno (In this scenario, Milwaukee gives the Rockets some picks and maybe one of them goes to Indy to entice the trade).
In a more realistic trade. Now that we have a connect at Sacramento, it's time to get our budget Capela replacement. https://tradenba.com/trades/eCopkPUhP Russ Harden/ Ben Eric Covington / Bruno PJ / Holmes Use the MLE to sign Ibaka or Grant and go bigger. Russ Harden/ Ben Covington / Eric PJ/ Bruno Ibaka or Grant / Holmes
I see the potential but I just don't see a trade for him happening. The Magic are pretty stubborn and shouldn't have Bamba/AG/Isaac/Vuc all on their roster. At least one has got to go at some point. It just isn't conducive to winning basketball. https://tradenba.com/trades/5uN2ZfEBQ That seems fair enough. Russ Harden / Ben Covington PJ / Gordon / Bruno We'd definitely be think in back court though and I would need some depth there. I think the 4/5 would be locked down with RoCo / PJ/ Gordon getting close to the full 96. Maybe one guy to come in and pick up 15-20 MPG. We'd also need another wing.
Love these ideas and they are quite possible. Brogdon Harden Middleton RoCo BroLo Brogdon Russ Harden RoCo ??
In scenario two we sign Ibaka and move PJ to the back up 4. Keep House I'd imagine. If we could get Brogdon or Turner for Eric, we would be well on our way to building a better fitting team. Eric is just a bit redundant with the amount of scoring Russ brings.
CLE: Russell Westbrook PHX: Eric Gordon, Danuel House, Langston Galloway HOU: Andre Drummond, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ricky Rubio MLE: Jae Crowder Harden Oubre RoCo PJ Drummond Bench: Crowder, Rubio, Nwaba, Green, McLemore Vet min signings: Josh Jackson, Harry Giles, Dragan Bender, Ryan Broekhoff
Would take this trade all day. Especially if Aron Baynes agrees to MLE, I like roster even more. Plus vet min signings for 6'8 Jeff Green, 6'8 Josh Jackson, 6'7 Ryan Broekhoff, 6'9 Bruno Caboclo and 6'4 Tyler Johnson. Brodie Beard RoCo AG Baynes Bench: PJ, Nwaba, McLemore, Green, Bruno, Broekhoff, JJackson, TJohnson
Yep. We won't get any better unless we give up something. Tillman's money is the asset I'm most willing to part with. But, Harris/Horford cover positions of need where as Russ' best skill is mostly redundant.
There is no way we get Ibaka. We’re not going to have the $9M MLE. He’s not taking $5M. Toronto would simply offer him a 1 year $10M+ and he’d take that over signing elsewhere. As for a post regarding Russ to Milwaukee, pretty sure Milwaukee Front Office are smart enough to not pair Giannis with Russ
Westbrook+Gordon+Covington+PJ for T.Harris + Al horford + Joel Embiid or Westbrook+Gordon+PJ for T.Harris + + Joel Embiidf Rocket River
Since DanAndToni going to Phill is rumored Guy was saying he won't like to coach Embiid and We can help them get rid of Harris's contract or Horfords Rocket River
I back this and it’s not too unrealistic considering how volatile Hield’s situation has been in Sacramento; but I feel the Kings can do better in the sense of trading Hield and not taking on a contract like EG’s, a 32 year old that’s guaranteed $17M, $18M and $19M next three years. Sacramento is also trying to re-sign Bogdanovic so money will be an issue. EDIT: I honestly like Hield in Atlanta as a fit. I feel like a Trae/Buddy back court could be pretty good in the East. Obviously will require improvement on the defensive end but still young.
We have no realistic path to a ring anymore, its probably time to blow it up. Put Harden in a position to win a ring.
