    It doesn't matter who we choose, they have to conform to the philosophy. It's bullshit but that's the way it is. Tilman is not going to spend the money for a legit coach with the nuts to overturn Morey.

    Well if you will consider the 'facts' then maybe you wont think of it being insulting.

    Whenever you will see his name being mentioned by any Rockets broadcasting or even the Rockets shows that produced by the Rockets, they always mentioned him being : "a mentor, there are much more than just basketball, he is here to guide the young players to be a good man, he is sharing his experience and the struggles to guide our players."

    Do you know that even shitty assistant like Roy Rogers got chance to do halftime interview to evaluate the performance of the team but you almost never see him say anything on TV?

    And when exactly is the last time you see him say anything in the huddle or even coached any Rockets summer league games (that will actually be an insult to him)?

    I haven’t heard anything about Lucas being interviewed but it wouldn’t be a complete shock. Lucas is one of the only people in the organization that will stand up to star players and tell them when they have screwed up. He is a really strong and positive culture guy. He always has a great attitude and is upbeat.

    He was at times a successful head coach a few decades ago. Still I don’t see him being the Rockets head coach. Ideally he has some involvement but not as the top guy.

    The Rockets need a little more toughness on the basketball side. Lucas is tough.

    FYI,

    John Lucas was rumored to be interested in the Sixers head coaching position a couple of weeks ago, so this could be a valid rumor (I obviously have no idea). Also rumored to be interested in the Sixers was Tyronn Lue.

    If you look at the head coaches for the 16 playoff teams, I'd say only one was a players coach - Doc Rivers. And you could argue that he underachieved with the Clippers. The profile of a successful head coach in 2020 is a technician like Nick Nurse, Brad Stevens, Michael Malone - experts on defense and X's and O's... someone who can instill discipline into the team. With the way fouls are called and with Harden on our team, the offensive side will be there. The area in which a playoff team differentiates itself is on defense strategy and effort. Obviously this was not D'Antoni's forte.

    We need to find a brilliant defensive strategist.

    Ty Lue is the player. The National Spotlight will be there plus he is a fighter and he doesnt care about star politics. I love John but he cant be out in front
