A lot I agree with here. Reality TV has long been a head scratcher for me. For that matter I just don't get the appeal of the Kardashians.. In same vein WAP, I've heard the song seen the video, don't like the music, didn't make want to fap, although I did find the lyrics clever as comedy. Avocado toast. I like avocados, I like toast but I just don't find the combination to be that big of a deal. Tiger King. Didn't see it and have no interest in seeing it. ASMR, the podcast where people whisper or make low volume sound effects.
Overrated? Drinking...... I have a nice little set up and sometimes it is nice but some people really go overboard with it. No desire to be smashed all the time, and if I wanted to be mind altered, there are better drugs for that. Relationships with young women. I have some friends and associates that are in their 40-50's and have wives or serious girlfriends in their 20's and early 30's. It just isn't worth it for most guys, especially those that have had a family. You end up with a woman that makes cultural references you do not understand, they typically lack maturity so their are fights about stupid immature things. They usually have friends that are closer to their age..... all of this work and nonsense so you can pound a girl in her 20's. Not worth it. @what is overrated..... he is like the poor man's version of @hotballa. Expensive cars are overrated as well...... and so is Florida.
Totally agree on the relationship part. I'm relatively newly divorced and some of my friends are trying to live vicariously through my dating/sex life. They're almost disappointed I met someone my age who I like a lot and am in a serious relationship with. I have no interest in trying to keep up with someone 1/2 my age or even born more than a decade after me. I could date someone who's 27 and they still would've been born AFTER I graduated HS. I don't really want to have to explain Grunge to anyone.
Have you ever experienced it? I have experienced it throughout my life in certain situations...tingly peaceful sensation...and had no idea I was alone until I was listening to a Hear Be Monsters podcast featuring a guy discussing it. It blew me away that it wasn't universal. The videos where it's intentionally trying to produce the feeling don't work for me....has to happen organically. But it's a state of semi-bliss that is fantastic. I recognize not everyone experiences it...my wife and sons laugh at me about it.
Shake Shack New York style pizza New York City Having drinks at a bar or restaurant. Yeah, this would cost 50 cents to make at home, let's pay $8-10 for it. Wine. Beers recommended by Beeradvocate or any online beer rating site. The beers may be or may not great, but the insufferable descriptions by people by definition make them overrated. My Hero Academia
Along the same vein, why would anybody buy concession food at movies and sporting events? Eat before or after maybe get a drink to sip on while watching no way in hell I am buying one or multiple 10 dollar beers. Alos brisket has jumped the shark, it's a racket now, any 2 bit guy with a smoker is charging 10 dollar for a dry ass sammiche. 20 dollars a pound? GTFO!.
I definitely had that one in mind as well, but I figured someone would come along and pick me up on that. Great minds... Well, normal, common sense minds...
Actually the whole restaurant culture over the last 10 years is crazy. It used to be an event maybe every other weekend now it's at least once a week.
The biggest overrated thing is hot wings. How does it make sense spending a dollar plus on something with that little amount of meat and its usually not that great. Buffalo wild wings is the most overrated thing there is. I love a good chicken wing best part of the chicken IMO but hot wings are an abomination for the most part.
That’s how I feel about crawfish. I enjoy them but once or twice a season and I’m good. Too much work.
...my grandmother telling me for 45 minutes and counting how people are going to find Jesus during this pandemic. Right now.
