Even though the season has ended, not in the way we would have liked, I wanna tell you how much most of you meant to me. And how much this thread has meant to me. Actually this thread ended up being garbage. But y’all are cool. Well, most of you.
On to Plan B!!! Give up those 4 firsts to ORL for Aaron Gordon and Jonathon Simmons. CP3 Harden Simmons AGordon Capela PJ, EGo and Melo off the bench. Get it done Morreeeee!!!!
I don't think people understand that the protections would have been very limited on those picks and a pick would have had to convey in each year to satisfy league rules. - protections cant push compensation beyond the 7th year because league rules prohibit it. So if any pick was X protected and that protection was met , they'd have to convey some kind of compensation immediately. The language would have to have been something similar to - (the top 3 is just a for instance , no clue what the actual protections would have been). 2019 pick is top 3 protected , if protection is met turns into a 2nd. 2021 pick is top 3 protected , if protection is met turns into a 2nd. 2023 pick is top 3 protected , if protection is met turns into a 2nd. 2025 pick is top 3 protected , if protection is met turns into a 2nd. All compensation had to convey by 2025 and no pick could roll over to the following season because that would put them on schedule to convey picks in subsequent years or beyond the 7 year window .... which is a no no. Odds were that the first couple picks would be in the tail end of the draft but those later picks …. who knows. CP3's age and contract come into play sooner than later.
I've seen enough. Time to trade Knight, Chriss, and 4 first round picks for Butler. Get er done mauri!
This thread is like that embarrassing old refrigerator in your yard that you once thought you could fix on your own. Now it's rusted and dented and not even an expensive repair man will touch it. The garbage truck say, "nah bro, you gotta haul that to the dump yourself." So it just sits there. You think about taping it shut so that kids can't get stuck in it, but then you recall a couple of your least favorite posters running around and think, "well, maybe I'll just leave it open for a whiles yet."
I know. This reminds me of the Starbury crap. It's amazing what you can do when no one is there to get in the way of your shot, you can take half of the team's shots, and you don't have to guard anyone. He scores 75 pts and his team still lost. Reminds me of the Rubio/Love Wolves and Boogie's Sac stat lines in losses.
