I don't "think" we're trying to send Butler to Miami. I know we're trying to add a great piece at the SF position. I have stated that we are interested and will probably acquire one of Kawhi, Butler, Winslow, or Oubre, Jr. before the deadline. I'm not opposed to Butler. Just don't think we will commit to paying Butler a max contract for the next 5 seasons after this one because of the repeater luxury tax. I'm pretty sure we'd rather deal with Winslow's (or Oubre's) restricted free agency, especially in a tight salary cap market, and I'm pretty sure we like his age a whole lot better than Butler. Not to mention attitude as well. Game? Probably not quite on Butler's level on either end......although Winslow is coming FAST! I don't believe a lot of BS agendas pushed by teams to a press willing to gobble up their garbage. Anybody that thinks NBA teams view JRich's value over Winslow's is sadly mistaken. Minny wants BOTH Winslow and JRich, rather than just Winslow and ..... Whiteside, Waiters, TJ, or others. And the salaries need to work for them. That's where we come in. Miami is into the tax and wants out and Minnesota does not want to trade Butler and wind up IN the tax. Minnesota would possibly take Whiteside but then they want to give back Dieng to stay away from the tax. This is a cat and mouse game. PS: Keep your eye on Phoenix with Gordon going there and Warren possibly going to Minnesota as part of a deal for Butler also.
He also allowed more PPP on iso possessions than Harden and even Curry. I know what kind of reputation he has on defense, esp coming out of UVA. He was still one of the worst last year.

When did i say that you trade for a 22 year old just for what he can do now? I just said that if you trade for a young player you have no guarantee that he'll get better. Winslow got better at shooting like you said, other major improvements? Not sure they are there, we can agree or disagree with this, regardless, to me it seems like some of you guys talk about him like he's a rising star, to me he's not...maybe it's just me being to negative about him, i'm going to reconize if i'm wrong as soon as this is evident, no problem RPM also says that Korver was a top 4 SG in the league btw, so...yeah.

I just think that for a team like the Rockets, with a core of Paul and Harden, getting a player like Butler makes way more sense over a Winslow (who's a good prospect bla bla, i agree with this, again, wouldn't mind getting him as a plan B or whatever), we just don't have time to wait the possible development of a 22 years old player. As for Tilman paying the repeater tax i'm doubtful too, but i trust Morey & co to handle that.
