I don't know why anyone would be against this. We got pretty much everything on our wish list:

    1) Houstonian - check
    2) Rockets fan - check
    3) Single owner - check

Does everyone know how rare that is?

Our owner is more famous than Harden. Imagine him recruiting melo. Just come to my 20 mill yacht out in the golden nugget.

What's the appeal of a single owner? Less people to please profit-wise?

No, it doesn't make him a less valuable businessman, and it doesn't really matter that they aren't five stars. This is clearly just my opinion, but the problem is that he has built an empire that seems like a bunch of mirages. He spends a lot of money on the packaging and it gets you in the door, but when you leave you wonder if the product was worth that you paid for. To me, an application of his restaurant philosophy to a sports team would mean spending money on marketing, pre-game and in-game entertainment, arena food, but never going into the luxury tax, spending just enough to ensure a 50-55 win team every year but never enough to put a team over the top, and cutting things like the analytics staff, scouting department, and player amenities because they aren't things that the consumers (i.e. fans) can see. I sure hope I'm wrong, but that's my fear.

this and concern for spending habits.

This guys whole gig is cost cutting and polishing turds and passing it off as luxury.

Original seed money is maceo crime family.

Barf. He wont go for it like les has and thinks he can outsmart everyone like cuban thinks.

This sucks. Worst day ever to be a rockets fan when thinking about future and what lies ahead. I hope im wrong

running a restaurant and running a sports organization is 2 different things.
I hope he has a mind of being successful and not back down from making things better.
I hope he is 1 of the key in morey's 5 keys

I think we'll know early on what kind of owner he is.

He has a spectacular front office right now. If he changes it just to be his way, then I can safely assume he's gonna be a meddler, which is never good.

Wow. I can't believe these franchise values. I have to eat crow on my conspiracy about why the Clippers were sold for two billion

Items on my list were owners with deep pockets that seemed willing to spend whatever. I don't see checks there. I'd rather have a group willing to spend big $$ than a single owner who seems to have spent most of his worth on the team, with a history of cutting costs.

I understand his previous businesses may have served some of you a bad meal, but this guy is a true Rockets fan. Just about the best case scenario.
