Roddy was dinged in his second season, so it remains to be proven if he is going to pick up from his rookie season and get better or not. He is talented. Still, he's not Mr. Midget Man. That is Jerome Randle and Barea. Roddy is a regular sized point, an undersized 2. Jerome and J.J. are midget gnats out there.
I've been waiting for Randle to resurface. Here's my original post on him. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=187713
The mixtape doesn't show him for what he really is. A killer from outside and fast! He's Brooks but stronger. Here's some college stuff. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4zHBQ354L8U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The guy from last year's playoffs is the real Barea. NBATV had a special on him when he first came in the league showing his path from D League to Mavs. I don't remember the exact numbers but the guy was putting up Kobe stats in the D League, honestly somewhere around a 30 pt average over a handful of games. Then he kind of seemed timid once he got to the big leagues and I pretty much wrote him off as a midget until he finally blew up last season. He will fit in well in Minnesota and Adelman likes to put him on the court with Rubio to cause matchup problems, he is essentially a 2 guard. Overpaid like Chandler but players with rings (or heavyweight belts) bring a winning culture and attitude to a team. All that said, Randle seems to have more confidence going back to last year's summer league and is probably the better player
RobMahoney Rob Mahoney If Dallas -- as has been reported -- really does end up keeping Drew Neitzel and waiving Jerome Randle, I will be very, very confused. RobMahoney Rob Mahoney This makes a bit more sense: Mavericks officially announce that they have waived Jerome Randle AND Drew Neitzel.
If we have Barea on our team we'll be singing his praises all day. He destroyed us every time we played Dallas. The guy just flat out can play and he is a lot better than most people give him credit for. His size and his race play a factor why people seemed to dismiss him. I'll take Barea in a heartbeat!
Yeah, most of us were constantly pumping Brooks when he was a Rocket, meanwhile, every time we played Dallas, Barea was toasting us and Brooks.
