All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 9-7 Cristian Javier (R) vs. Frankie Montas (R) 8:10 9-8 Mike Minor (L) vs. Zack Greinke (R) 5:10 9-8 TBD vs. Chris Bassitt (R) 30 minutes after 1st game 9-9 Luis Garcia (R) vs. Jesus Luzardo (L) 8:10 9-10 Jose Urquidy (R) vs. Sean Manaea (L) 2:40
My thoughts reading through the starting pitchers: First game... "Javier isn't ours but Montas definitely isn't ours... Oh, right no... not paying enough attention I should have remembered Javier." Third game: "Not announced? @#$*." Fourth game: "Assume Luis Garcia is an Astro but due to game 2's starters being flipped, who knows." 2020's been a real kick in the nuts. *I realize Greinke's listed second due to a Houston make-up.
After their COVID shutdown the rotation could have been set anyway they wanted...and they wanted no part of Fiers pitching in this series.
If we have any remaining aspirations on winning the division, we really need to win this series. Mike F#cking Fiers. He cant hide forever.
A bit perhaps But I will add that when we do catch up to him, I hope all our hits are directed up the middle as line drives and grounders
Springer CF Reddick DH Brantley LF Gurriel 1B Tucker RF Correa SS Diaz 2B Toro 3B Garneau C Javier P Dusty Baker said Alex Bregman will "probably" be activated during tomorrow's doubleheader Astros relievers Chris Devenski and Blake Taylor are on the injured list with elbow discomfort. Chase De Jong and Humberto Castellanos have been activated. For reaching 10 years of service time, Josh Reddick got a cake, balloons and a bottle of champagne "that we thoroughly enjoyed on the plane ride here." Jose Altuve has not resumed baseball activities yet, Dusty Baker said. Altuve told Baker he is feeling better, though. Carlos Correa, Martin Maldonado and Joe Espada — the Astros' three Puerto Rican players/staffers — will wear No. 21 on Roberto Clemente Day on Wednesday. Correa: "Roberto Clemente was our Jackie Robinson. He was the greatest humanitarian this game has ever seen."
Dang, Taylor on the IL sucks. Maybe that's why he TOTALLY lost command in that game where he opened the 9th with 2 walks on 10 pitches. Would have been nice if they noticed it, but maybe he didn't feel it until after. Sucks to lose one of your top relievers. Can't wait to see Bregman back, hope he's fully healthy and doesn't aggregate anything.
Something was off with Taylor. =( Did you guys know Verlander had a little brother that's dating Alexandra Daddario, supposedly?
