I could be wrong but I seem to remember, at least within the past 2-3 years, Dwight always having a good game against Duncan.

Duncan can't hold Jordan or Howard. Spurs will still be a beast though. We just have to take advantage of our advantages.

Howard had pretty much killed Duncan in almost every matchup the last few years and I don't see that changing.

He'd be coming in as a 3rd string center....why would anyone expect him to go up against starters?

I wouldn't use the word "kill" to describe this...

You must not have read through it. They pretty much called Hayes the Aldridge-stopper.

I wouldn't be suprised at landing anywhere between 2nd and 6th seed

Would be overjoyed with 1st or 2nd, disappointed with 5th or 6th or later.

Everyone is acting like this guy is ready to go. What happens if his off the court problems get worse here?, or he can not fully recover from his problems, of course nobody around here mentions this, there must be a reason why the nuggets wanted to get rid of him badly.

Rockets will either find out quickly or see a player who changes with the influences. GIve or take nothing is guarnateed with lawson. So as excited as all these posters are you dont just get a top 10 pg with that low of trade value unless there was something really wrong.

I hope he changes for the best, and if i was darly i would pull trade with miami and get Chambers, and Anderson. Chambers would be just insurance, and Anderson could play the Hayes role everyone around here is talking about...

I could see T.Jones to Miami for Chambers,Anderson, and 1st round pick. This would free up time for Harrell if hes nba ready.

It's simple. One is a Starter(Duncan) and one is off the bench(Hayes). ;)

As to the poll , I have to say we are probably the #2 team in Texas behind the Spurs .... not necessarily based on talent alone .... but the Spurs have Pop and he's probably the best coach in the game.

Then you have the championship experience of that team ....

Duncan , Parker , West and Ginobili may not be in their primes anymore but they are all very good players and when you combine them with Aldridge & Leonard they are loaded for bear.

The Rockets have a very solid roster too .... I think the division and the conference will be a dogfight all year long .... but Pop separates the Spurs from everyone else.

You still have to prove it on the court, we probably have a Top 3 team in the West or overall on paper

People keep saying that, but in what way is West a "very good" player? He's a sieve defensively and all he really has offensively is a mid-range jumper. How is that "very good"?

    I don't like to discuss "if's", I'm going to discuss is's(?? LOL)

It's time for the Rockets to roll out Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam before each home game this next year and summon the spirits of our ClutchCity heroes - cause it's back!

Lawson is (at this point in Parker's career) going to be able to not only negate Parker's effect on the game with his ability to create on the court but propel our offense to what we could not create for Harden last year, that is, HARDEN UNLEASHED. Any defense that decides it wants to double down Harden (which they will do - will pay). Any defense that decides to leave a single defender? We thought Harden made it look easy last year..... (Everyone in unison - THANK YOU MOREY!)
Lawson aside, we now have Beverley playing the role he was made to play and will not be expecting or forced to play outside of his game. With rest, Beverley changes the tempo of the game single-handedly (getting told by auto-correct that this is not a word - F it). We now have one of the strongest Point Guard rotations in the league and that is not up for debate, accept it.

At Shooting Guard, it's Harden (Now in Beast Mode) and a hot handed shooter with something to prove in Marcus Thornton. This is run and gun offense and these are run and gun players. Going to be special.

At Small Forward, more of the same, solid 3&D Ariza, the coked-up greyhound Brewer, a man-child athlete in KJ and at some point Dekker. DEEP.

At Power Forward, pray for health and the rest will take care of itself.

At Center, Howard / Capela. Everyone knows Capela now but they haven't seen his development. Mismatch all year.

Spurs? Don't want to play us. No one wants to play us. This is the first time in years we have players who know each other and have played together going into the year (minus Lawson - who will be fine). I hope everyone can count over 60....

When you have 5 chips on your side you get the benefit of the doubt.

We shouldn't sleep on our pf rotation. I know TJones looked like complete crap in the playoffs last year but if he plays anywhere close to like he was before the injury the NBA is in trouble. Having D-MO starting and Bev back? We are coming out of the west.

I'm really not worried about Lawson. Does he need to get his act together? Probably, but none of us knows how bad his problem really is!

Since his latest DUI and especially since the trade, all you hear the media talk/write about is Lawson and his issues. What people seem to forget is that the guy has not missed any time due to his 'issues' (well other than the missed flight from Vegas for practice).

He has been playing in the league all this time and he has been playing at a high level. I don't know why this would change all of a sudden now that he is a Rocket?! If indeed he has a problem, I sure hope he can fix it (for him and everyone else on the road, I hope he doesn't get another DUI) and I'm certain the org. is gonna do everything in their power to help Lawson too. Also, he will be in a better situation now - one of the top teams in the league with a shot at winning it all. The guy seems to be passionate about basketball, so I don't see how this is not going to be extra motivation for the guy.
