Terrible that the mosque burned down, especially if it is arson. However, the reaction of the community is encouraging:

It's nice to see an encouraging story once in a while.

Good. This is the right reaction (although, from the article, it is still unclear whether this was a hate crime, insurance fraud, or a kitchen accident).

Now let's hope that Muslims in Egypt and Nigeria and other places one day start rallying around Christian churches that were burned down in hate crimes.

Yeah we can only hope it happens one day.

Translation: "Either we live together or we die together, we are all human shields to protect Egypt." - Muslims protecting Coptic Christians from harm at Christmas Mass.

Also, this was posted twice on the BBS:

This kind of reaction is normal, and in fact an amazing quality of human beings. Unfortunately, humans also tend to be extremely vulnerable to coercion after traumatic experiences (fact), which is usually when the influential racists and bigots come out like roaches and create or exaggerate an ambiguous enemy (Islam, drugs, terror, generally things that can not talk back) since, instinctively or otherwise, they know that post-trauma is primetime for convincing people to go along with their normally rejected rhetoric. It is also a time when the racists and bigots push a non-reconciliatory agenda because they are aware of the astonishing power of humans to feel more compassion towards each other the more they meet/see/hear/know each other.

This kind of solidarity is great news and an excellent manifestation of religious freedom. For moderate Muslims that come from religious states, they will know or recall the hesitance to side with victims of non-Muslim religions since they could face persecution from the authorities or from extremist elements of the public. Imagine a Pakistani teen who, if he wanted to, would be scared ****less to side with the 11yr old Christian girl being held prisoner in Pakistan as we speak (link) from fear of literally being murdered or attacked or shunned. Witnessing this type of solidarity is an excellent experience in seeing the positives of religious freedom, something he/she may never have been taught growing up.

    Thanks for posting this OP.

Like the Sun rising in the morning, ATW takes a shot at Muslims.

Thanks for posting this. Very good.

Now let's hope that this kind of attitude spreads through the Muslim world and that Christians will be free to practice their faith in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and other Muslim countries as well.

Let's hope tolerance spreads through the Internet Islamists/crusaders and the law abiding Muslims will be free to post their thoughts throughout the interwebs and all other places of discussion.

Where are Muslims not free to post their thoughts? I believe they are - in the West.

Now, in Muslim countries, this might be a very different story. Freedom of speech is not in such high regard in many of them.

So theoretically speaking, let's say someone was to post an article about what you said above actually happening - Would you respond again with:

Let's hope that one day it will not be necessary to respond with that.
