Been through 2 breakups in the past 6 months.

Girl #2 got me over Girl #1, and newfound multiple poon has gotten me over Girl #2.

I love being the only single member of my band.

There is only one thing that gets you over a breakup...wild nasty sex with new poon. Trust me...I'm a musician.

Ah, breakups/divorce suck. I hate to see two people go sour on each other. I'm sincerely sorry to see you go through this, LL.

Dating since you were that young...you guys were bound to change. Don't blame yourself completely. It takes two.

Given your impending singleness, I direct you to http://www.laddertheory.com/

    Learn it, live it.

Hell, ours went up $141/mo. They claimed they misjudged our property taxes. They did this our first year in the house, too. But then they sent us a check for an overpayment at years end. Who the hell knows...

LL, keep your head up, buddy. That way the beer doesn't roll down your chin.

You can keep that from happening by paying your own taxes and Insurance and foregoing escrow.

But you have to have at least 20% equity in your house before you can do it.

    Sorry, LL. That sucks.

Depends on the lender. Generally, you have to keep paying the mortgage insurance with less than 20% equity, but you may be able to pay your own homeowners and taxes. Those are the two items that may cause a yearly change in the monthly mortgage payment (up or down).

Damn, LL....that's awful. I can't even pretend to relate to what you're going through, but I can only imagine the pain you're in. Visiting family is a good start....hopefully when you come back, you'll be in a position to start rebuilding yourself. It sounds like you're going through a major transition, and at the end of it, I think you'll be happier with who you are. Time and patience, my friend.

Yeah, don't mind me. I've been to some Rockets games with them, and Stack24's place before games, so I guess I just feel some camaraderie and, frankly, sadness. I left Houston and never knew what happened, so feel uncomfortable sometimes since I'm a big fan of theirs. Suppose I should have taken it offline on FB. Guess it's weird to say it on a bbs.

sry moes and finals if i was weird and intrusive

but didn't you like the animated gif.

Yeah, like having our entire relationship cataloged on this website wasn't weird and intrusive the whole time anyway. :p

We went our separate ways, it was definitely for the best.

LL - hopefully you will gain that same perspective some day.

    Words to live by?
    _____

Seriously though -- it's sad that you're in the middle of a divorce, but you've become a better person LL. Just speaking on your BBS persona you've become a much more level headed moderate thinking person. That's a good thing if nothing else. I imagine you've taken this point of view in all aspects of your life -- your family needs to catch up with you.

    bobrek and Chuck,

I found out this morning that my homeowner's insurance had been too low and that State Farm raised it from like 600 to 760 a month! Also, my property taxes went up a little bit. I asked the question about doing escrow as one lump sum payment but was told that I have to get out of PMI first. My lender is US Bank - never again....

Getting back to the thread topic - Landlord, hang in there buddy. Since June of last year, my life has been filled with disappointments, anxiety, doubt, fear, you name it. There was a time that if I went through this stuff when I was in my 20s, I might have done something drastic. But praise the Lord, I have been able to stay strong.

All I can tell you is to stay strong and know that you have an excellent support system with your brethren on the BBS and especially with Hipster Howl.
