When we last spoke I was constructive in suggesting you spread cheeks towards Udokas DMs because you are crying for attention real bad otherwise there’s no way someone comes in here with a straight face after what everyone was saying in this thread came to fruition.
WHAT IS IME DOING LETTING JABARI TAKE MORE SHOTS THAN SENGUN?!??!?! FIRE HIM!!!!! Spoiler did i do it right?
Yes. We don’t stretch the floor well even after the Green trade. We’re better at passing out to the corner and wings for 3s because of our positioning with Durant and Sengun. But Amen not being able to shoot beyond 5 ft and both him and Sheppard’s inability to play high screen and roll has forced us to play iso or post with our stars which leads to a lot of TO’s when they trap and then jump our passing lanes on the kickout.
I don’t think that we’re overall worse than last year but i do think it feels like something is missing. I think not having Fred on the floor hurts this team’s mental and physical edge. We already lost Brooks but not having a vocal leader on the floor matters. Our defense just doesn’t look the same.
Ime is stubborn but it seems he is slowly adjusting. Massive difference in how Reed was playing today versus previous game. Ime definitely decided to give Reed the keys to attack and facilitate. You could tell by how the rockets were actively looking to inbound the ball to him, where as previous game you had Jabari, Sengun and Amen taking majority of the ball forward. This game they were looking to pass to Reed and are actively looking for Reed to get his shots up. On the flip side, Reed is also dishing some amazing dimes to his team mates. ime is definitely adjusting and I hope you continues to realize Sengun should play as a hub and Reed should be initiating the offense.
Our half court offense is still a work in progress but I think we can get there if we figure our biggest weakness: TURNING THE DAMN BALL OVER.
I gotta feeling that Ime got called in to the office after Pels loss and got earful of how disastrous Sengun and Amen are playing in December in terms of efficiency and showing advanced number that KD and Reed are positive when used correctly. Amen and Sengun had half of the play what they used to get last night while KD and Reed usage were the highest so something did happened Friday
The offense is “initiated” by several players. Part of Sengun’s strength is his ability to handle the ball full court and making plays in the halfcourt. Udoka probably likes that unique aspect and lets him handle and initiate from time to time. In today’s league no team lets one player “initiate” the offense.
Ime leans too heavily on KD......Ime is the reason we are getting beat by low level teams, every team knows you just double KD and he turns it over......yet, Ime keeps on ****ing that chicken. DD
I have yet to see him counter the double teaming! And just like you said teams have the blue print by doubling durant and yet ime doesn’t have a solution to this.
For me, this is the most important topic on all of ClutchFans. Ime is running the most brain-dead basketball I’ve ever watched. Ime and his f***** absurd rotations.
Just not a smart coach. He will never take us to the promised land. No Holiday minutes and 48 ****ing KD minutes is just yet another example. Like **** dude KD is nearly 40 and playing 48 minutes in a regular season game against SAC. Use your brain, man.
He has to stay but he needs an offensive assistant. Rockets offense gets worse as the season goes. It is ridiculous to keep using Durant as a PG while you have Amen and Reed still watching how he can't manage the ball pressure. And this is not Kevin Durant's foul. Not just that. Offense in general looks extremely unstructured.
