As an NBA player, he's washed. If he wants to come take an assistant coach gig, sure? I'd imagine there are other organizations he'd prefer though if that's the path he's going to take, given his history here.
If it was Morey in charge I am sure it won’t happen. But Stone seems like a guy who would pull the trigger on a deal like this.
He wouldn't play here either. Ime likes KD and Sengun running the offense (if you can call a bunch of isos and offense rebounds an "offense"). Prime CP3 would've been good enough to take the keys, but if current CP3 can't outplay Reed then there's no way Ime would play him.
CP3 makes no sense for the Rockets. He's washed up. Sure, he's a great leader, but we already have that in Fred who's a good bench and locker room presence while not suiting up for the team. I don't mind bringing in another PG at some point, but Chris Paul ain't the answer.
I'm not really worried about that. By the time Reed will theoretically hit that wall, the Rockets should have Tari and DFS back. At that point, our depth will minimize the need for him to be playing 30+ minutes.
Reed named CP3 as a player he developed his game around...I'm sure 10 to 15 minutes of CP3 could work out for the Rockets. He production has dropped off from last year, but that could be a team environment/culture issue. He is a tremendous competitor and would be a great leader for the young guys.
CP3 is gonna choose between the Lakers or Nuggets...this his last shot at getting a ring. If he goes to OKC, CP3 will be their Udonis Haslem
I don't care what anyone else thinks.... he's a keeper!! Get'r done Stones!! Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id...irement-release-potential-landing-spots-teams Paul's performance declined dramatically in his limited time this season. He shot just 32% from the field and attempted two total free throws in 16 games; out of 296 players with at least 200 minutes played this season, Paul ranks 279th in player efficiency rating and 277th in box plus/minus. The Rockets are not allowed to sign a 15th player until early January. Even without starting point guard Fred VanVleet, they rank No. 1 in the league in offense. They have, however, given up the 11th-most turnovers so far. The Clippers are in a holding pattern. Paul's $3.6 million contract was guaranteed, and he is not allowed to be traded until Dec. 15, which is the date free agents who signed in the offseason can be dealt. While they can waive Paul now and take on his salary ($2.3 million would count against the cap), they are not allowed to replace him because they are $1.3 million below the first apron. The earliest they can sign a replacement is Jan. 7, unless there is a separate trade to drop further below the apron.
Paul's sharp decline from last season suggests he's prob injured. If health is possible within a few weeks, sign him yesterday. Playing 28 minutes with good backup-level production last year, he can duplicate the efficiency 15-20 min/game, perhaps better.
