You are correct. A team has 48 hours to match an offer sheet. In addition, the offering team cannot use the cap space that is being held for the RFA. This can tie up a significant amount of money and prevent the team from pursuing other free agents.
Most likely, there will be a team left with cap space after the initial flurry, making the next two days less important. It really comes down to whether a team is willing to test the Rockets. With the Rockets likely having some certainty on contracts right now, the best case is Tari gets lowballed and Rockets can use TP-MLE. I think Tari on 3 years, but not triggering 2nd apron in any of those would be a good outcome. I'd see Tari wanting more than Rockets can fit under 2nd apron a bad outcome. I just don't value the TP-MLE exception enough that I would risk a bad outcome if the Roickets could extend at a good outcome now.
Reed figuring things out makes us the best team in the league IMO. I hope he’s been grinding all summer. **** vacation!!!
That only works if they go the extension route, or he has problems during the season. My understanding is that it takes a long time to recover after that surgery, but the prognosis after that is usually good as long as there aren't other issues (soft tissue things). If he has a healthy season, probably can add $5-10M a season onto whatever he would sign now.
This was my lasting memory of Reed over the Summer. I carried it with me as a baseline to evaluate his pre and early season performance. I'm officially concerned. The conversation my kids and I had on the way home from game 6 was "would you trade Reed straight up for Pat Spencer and a 1st." All of my kids said yes. I laughed at their short-sightedness off a hilariously small sample size. They might be right. ****.
Yes, none of this matters unless he does it consistently against regular season competition. But are we showing preseason Reed highlights because there is nothing else right now? Also, Yes
this account says reed's energies dont match with the amen, sengun, bari and kd. maybe the reason he never breaks out with the starters. been following this account for awhile and dude is weirdly right about a lot of stuff.
I am pro choice!! this account said reed was an A+ with the bench (when cam was here) also said sengun, amen and KD are an A+
I'll ignore the zodiac nonsense and just say the problem might be Reed's low perception of himself when playing with the starters. This is something he can easily grow out of. It might only take one 25-point outburst or a 12-point 1st quarter during the season to put him at ease.
im the same. i have no feeling about the zodiac stuff (unless you are so into the moons and ****, it get annoying). i just find it interesting when it is applied to sports. I like to see if homie is right... and a lot of the times this guy is right. literally months in advance.
Tbh, I'm sure a lot of 6'2 clean cut college kids get into the league and whilst they're on that same kinda money it's got to be a bit intimidating surrounded by absolute top tier athletes, huge giants, multi-multi-millionaires with all that comes with it. It's not like coming in as Amen and seeing/knowing you're bigger, stronger and faster, I'm sure it takes a lot of people time to be like "ok yeah I do really belong here." It's not like Reed was given the keys or even as much play time as rookie Alpi (or even Josh Christopher if I remember correctly) so I'm certainly not going to hold it against him if he needs to keep building that confidence.
