AOC is gaining weight -- this is undeniable. If she fancies a Presidential run in 2028, at this rate, she might weigh 160+ pounds. Her physical appearance helped significantly with the low info voters that she represents. If she loses her sex appeal by porking up, she will lose influence. It's a big deal.

    Trump is not tempered

I would say that maybe temperance is not a winning strategy anymore

If the Democratic Party was smart, they would tell Schumer to kick rocks and make a big deal out of her becoming a Senator in NY.

However this is the Democratic Party so who knows.

We live in the oddest political time since the 1800’s in America - so I would not laugh or completely write off her becoming President. She has the necessary charisma and I suspect she would play dirty enough.

You “thought we rejected this **** in the last election” - people were saying that after Trump lost to Biden as well. I am always stunned at the myopia of political party supporters… no, policy long term in the USA isn’t settled, nor is it settled that we are headed long term towards a MAGA tinted policy, it is just as likely that there is a back lash and we end up with a more radical left policy. History shows predicting the short and long term future based on the present occupant in power is very foolish.

Nah - the Pope absolutely HATES Donald Trump and JD Vance. Immigration is a big deal for the Vatican as is the poor…. Dolan is and has been the farthest right voice in the Church and he does have influence - but the Catholic Church has extremists on both side.

Her position on Abortion already would be counter the Pope - but luckily she is likely facing someone (MAGA/Vance) that the Church roundly despises.

You do not know the Church. Not even close. Trump garners EXCELLENT support from all Christians but also Catholics.

Despite the low IQs she was somewhat hittable before. Now that she is officially fat, she is just another gross and stupid lib. Please make her your nominee for 2028.

I agree that Schumer should stand down (or be put down) in favor of AOC for the NY Senate in 2028. He should also announce in the near future that he will not seek to be the Democratic Senate (minority probably) leader after the mid terms.

If there is an election in 2028 (which I think there will be, and no declaration of martial law by a tired, enfeebled 82-year-old Trump), my guess is that it will be another "safe" pick, like Biden was perceived to be in 2020. Vance will be viewed by the Democratic base as an existential threat to democracy, and Democrats will not take the chance of nominating a woman for the third time in four elections. Look for the pick to be a younger male Governor, like Wes Moore, Josh Shapiro or Andy Beshear.

In my way too early blurred vision, I see two possible battle lines for 2028 in the minds of Democrats; either the choice of liberal democracy vs. illiberal democracy (Orban's term), or the people vs. the Tech Oligarchs. Given the labor disruption from AI that will come into fuller focus in 2027 - 2028, my bet is on the later. But it does not take a Bernie / AOC-style democratic socialist to rally support for this battle; a "capitalist" governor can lead this charge.

My biggest fear is that if the Democrats declare war on the Tech Oligarchs, that the latter will so skew the algorithms that their message will be almost completely suppressed.

I think a few things are different:

    1) Trump was a highly successful businessman (achieved billionaire status and was recognized for business leadership with his TV show) before his run. AOC has accomplished nothing outside of office and was a bartender.

    2) AOC is already in politics... Trump was not.

    3) Trump is an entertainer... and being an entertainer and funny is an X factor in politics. AOC is neither.

    4) Trump is an excellent public speaker and communicator. AOC speaking is like nails on a chalkboard for independents (and obviously for Republicans).

    5) Policy positions... Trump picked policies that could build a winning coalition. AOC's policies are far left of center and she has toured the country with Bernie Sanders (socialist).

AOC starting to run against Trump

AOC accuses Trump of trying to take over media, blames prez for Kimmel suspension

    https://nypost.com/2025/09/27/us-ne...-halls-to-slam-president-trump-authoritarian/

    excerpt:

“Authoritarians rely on the perception of power,” the socialist lawmaker at a virtual Town Hall held Thursday night for her constituents in Queens and the Bronx.

“They need people to believe they’re more powerful than they actually are… Donald Trump is less popular than he has ever been,” said Ocasio-Cortez.

“In order to mask that reality, Donald Trump is trying to take control of the media, using extortion style tactics,” she slammed. “We all saw what happened with Jimmy Kimmel, we all saw earlier this year what CBS did with Stephen Colbert….These are exercises in power.”

Welp. That will be another loss for the dems. Real men would never vote for that batty girl, just like they didn’t vote for drunk loser Kamala.

    are they really that stupid?
