He already had a documentary done that was narrated by Dennis Quaid many years back if you haven't already seen it
I think if we're giving credit to owners and GMs (especially one who got extremely lucky after drafting Appel and Aiken back to back with the 1.1 pick of the draft), we should definitely give credit to the players who produced on the field, especially Jose Altuve. Altuve brought the team back to relevance and absolutely carried that first championship team on his back. All the tanking and draft capital and free agent spending wouldn't have resulted in anything without the little superstar who signed as an amateur free agent in 2007, back when Drayton McLane was team owner and Tim Pupura was GM.
ARod's first contract with Texas was completely worth it despite Texas having to eat some salary.to trade him. It was signed when he was 25 years old and he was an all-star level player until 35. Granted he opted out and signed a second contract, where the last few years were under water, but it netted the yankees a couple of championships, so I don't think the Yankees are complaining about it.
Most of these long contracts are still ongoing but the players have been productive. Machado is in year 7 of his 10 year deal and still great. Feel like Ohtani is going to turn out to be a steal even at his big number, based on the deferred comp. Judge. Harper. Seager helped the Rangers win a title. Time will tell but the success rate is higher than some think.
our very own @IdStrosfan with a good Correa article about what might be to come. Check it out. Follow (it's free) and will put you in drawing for 2 free playoff tickets.
My other favorite part from the presser besides "Getting to play with Altuve again." "I helped Minnesota win in the playoffs something that hadn't been done in 30 years. But they never really tried to add players after that." Here's a fun Twins blog post to catch some of what the opposition is feeling right now: https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/...e-twins-fans-are-making-him-out-to-be-r18938/
They’re taking on minority owners. Depending on the details it might not be that different than if they’d sold. Either way, they weren’t putting money into the team so Correa was going to be disgruntled no matter what. They messed up when they signed Correa to a big contract with a NTC without being sure they would/could sustain increasing payrolls to further add around him. Good luck for the Astros.
The club is allegedly $400M in debt (I'm assuming mostly due to the stadium?), they'll be cutting costs and corners for a while. No White Knight is gonna save them apparently.
Yeah - it depends on the interview. I have seen some, including one since he rejoined the Astros where you can see that he is less scripted and less cautious in how he answers questions and what his responses are.
Oh I'm asking you... Marc Singer I have no idea or reason why, but I kinda want to watch Krull or Beastmaster or whatever on one of these lazy afternoons
Man, watching that play again where he threw out Bichette at home was amazing. He came out of nowhere to grab that ball. But yeah, I don't really understand how Twins fans can even be mad at him.
