A rotation of Scherzer, Evoldi/Gray/Dunning/Perez while not quite as good as the Stros rotation is good enough to hold off the Stros because their offense is much better than the Stros offense.

Yep. I love Diaz. I think he needs to catch “every” game. But for a catcher that means 5 a week probably, tops. So, day game after a night game with a guy pitching that Maldy might have a chance to make contact against (he didn’t) isn’t a bad time to catch maldonado the one time a week he deserves. But play Diaz at 1B and do all the stuff you said. Make sure that Chas and Yordan get more AB’s than Peña. Pinch hit for maldy when the thing run is on base with 1 out down one in the 8th. we did none of these things, and lost. Maybe we still would have lost anyway. Probably likely so if I’m being honest. But that doesn’t excuse doing mathematically wrong things that make losing more likely. It’s just tough. Dusty hears it. That interview this morning and his reasoning behind what he did was so bad, defensive and prickly.
