The claims of Originalists always get a chuckle out of me… the Declaration of Independence was by written by a man that took his daughters 12-13 year old friend and menially black (75-80% white) friend and relative of his dead wife with him to France where he raped her, impregnated her and convinced her to return with him to USA where he continued to rape her, impregnate her and keep her hidden underground in slave chambers connected to his bed so he could rape her as he saw fit - James Madison, the primary writer of the Constitution was a great admirer of Jefferson and thought he was a great man… both had no problem with only wealthy white men having any say in government of the country and not a single woman was a signor or writer… Yet, these incredibly bigoted, and selfish men - not even representative of most Americans wrote these documents and Originalists wish to put them on a pedestal and believe their “wisdom” and knowledge of a world almost 300 years ago somehow magically carries over to the current situation in the USA. It is an incredibly demonstration of entitlement and absurdity… the Founders didn’t even have the courage to end bondage or grant equality to women. I know- they were men of their times… but that’s the whole point, being religiously bound to Originalism is stupid. Thomas can get back in chains and his wife can be arrested and beaten for marrying s black man and the weird religious female Justice can step down from the Court, because as a woman she shouldn’t be able to vote.
