Nah, man. It's not even close. Watch some more Magic games or ask anyone outside of that weird corner of the internet where Sengun is Jesus. They're on different tiers.

 

They are on different tiers. Sengun is way better. Banchero isn't even the best player on the Magic.

I recommend you have a look at the advanced stats and shooting stats in particular.

Banchero just scores more points because he gets more minutes and more shots, but he is terribly inefficient. Sengun beats him in every other category (except also slightly higher turnovers per 36 and a couple more fouls). Sengun is the better defender, better rebounder, better passer, much more efficient scorer. Better at everything.



Sengun is the best player from the last two drafts. Jalen Green is the best scorer from the last two drafts.

We just need a real coach.

 

So you wouldn't trade Alpi for Banchero straight up?

 

I most definitely would NOT.

I recommend that you look at the stats I posted, which confirm the eye test.

Banchero is, at this point, an inefficient chucker.

Sengun is probably a better defender than Banchero.

Sengun is so much more efficient than Banchero on offense. On the same volume I doubt there would be a difference between them.

I know Banchero's game LOOKS so much better than Sengun's, but I don't see a material difference in their ceiling. They're both going to produce a ton of combined points+assists mostly on the inside and on the other side struggle to become very good defenders. Good rebounding and shotblocking but nothing spectacular. None of them great off the ball yet. All the skills, talents and stats ultimately get condensed into offensive and defensive possessions, there's nothing else that happens. They grade about the same on each side of the court. So much more similar than they are different when you purely look at output.

I'm so glad we didn't pick Banchero. Sengun will give us all the same production with a more pass-first attitude and we got him with a #16 pick. In a one on one game, the handle will matter a lot more than in a team game so that would probably give Banchero the edge one on one.

 

Banchero would find an excuse to refuse to play against Sengun 1 on 1 out of fear of embarrassment.

 

Sengun would be benched by Silas. Nix would play in his place

 

By the way, the best player on the Magic is Franz Wagner. Banchero, as of now, is maybe the second best player on the Magic.

And after Jabari finally had his breakout game yesterday, I am still hopeful and confident that he will be better for us than Banchero for the Magic.

 

i didnt watch games recently but this wasn't true for last 2 years...and i know you subscribe to that weird(casual) definition but green was perhaps a 'better' shot taker(or a more frequent shot taker to be precise LOL) or even more precise, a FG waster...it just occurred by GMs and coaches design that he wasted sooo many shots that he scored a lot of points by chance lolololol

the fact that he took more shots than alpi, and took them by design! (either by coaches malpractice or Rockets org blatantly cheating) doesn't make him a better scorer

it wouldnt be fair towards alpi who is one of the best scorers in the WORLD

THE FACT OF LIFE IS whether, and whenever, you need a basket, or a lot of them, whether you really really need a basket, or whether you need a basket to save your life, me and everybody else here, even the greatest jalen green stans are putting all their chips on alperen sengun to score that basket or a whole lot of them...green is an inferior scorer AND ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE...
