I don’t necessarily disagree if we are looking at him solely as a CF, I think his defense would be pretty good playing LF though, and gives you another option in CF on days Chas sits (every time we play a LHP )
I don't know if your 3/40 was a report you've seen or your best guess, but if Eflin gets 3 years, $40MM then that Montero contract is looking better and better.
The Orioles are in agreement with first baseman/outfielder Franchy Cordero, reports Robert Murray of FanSided. It will be a one-year split contract that will pay Cordero $1.35MM in the majors and $450K in the minors. The interesting thing about this report is it confirms the split contract is still in effect. It may be a useful tool to lock up Brantley before his recovery is assured. If he needs more recovery time, he can stay in the minors or play in the Majors if he appears he has recovered. I'm not sure how high they can go with a split contract though.
