In that scenario, the runs likely would have just played out in the following inning.

Now our bullpen needs to outlast theirs.

I’m not here to sh— on Verlander like many on here are, but those stats are absolutely brutal. Lights too bright I guess

Can't really hold that against him. The ball comes back so fast, your normally just hoping to avoid injury.

if Mancini doesn't get a hit this game, Dusty have to give someone else a chance

As soon as JV gave up the double to their 9 hitter to start the 5th inning he shoulda been pulled. Abreu shoulda been warmed and ready and shoulda been up while we batted in the bottom of the 4th.

    Start Garcia game 5.

    Relegate JV to the bullpen.

Unless you don't care about winning this World Series.

It's not like they have a wealth of choices.

We’re gonna be revisiting Dusty’s decision to leave JV in for a long time if we lose this.

I apologize for my burn in hell Verlander comment. I was close to putting a hole in the wall.

That's not Dusty's M.O., never has been, never will be.

He lets his trusted starters go longer than just about any other manager I've ever seen.

Dusty will never do that. He respects JV and “backs his guys”. He’s gonna leave him out there to go 5 innings and give up 5 ER again.

But that is kind of the issue. The reason to trust your starters is so that the rest of your staff is well rested at the end of the season. They are currently at the end of the season. Can't keep doing it just because you have been doing it.
