Click is an idiot for even giving Dusty the option to have the scrub in the lineup in the first place. He’s barely above .200 for his career and the rate at which he strikes out would make you think he at least drops bombs…but nope literally has no skills that are even slightly above average. How Click looked at him and thought he would even be an upgrade over the guys we have in AAA is mind blowing. Sadly, I hate to say it but I think Dusty will give him more of a leash/playing time than he would others and I bet y’all can deduce what my logic is behind that opinion…
Yeah, I caught that. These a-holes get publicly funded stadiums, revenue sharing and make soaring profits win, or lose. There is a reason the owners cry poor to the players and public, but never open up their books. Coming out of global pandemic, I am sympathetic to people (owners and fans) being cautious with their spending, but Crane's comment rubbed me the wrong way.
What happened to the Fire Dusty Baker thread? Anyways, I don't know what's up with Baker playing Goodrum against righties and benching him against lefties when his career stats say he's better against lefties.
Maldy 2 for 29. Castro 1 for 12. Combined .073. Average that over 162 game season they collective average about 37 hits….on the season.
So many great offensive moments to start the season but the highlight has to be the heart of the order getting shut down by Yimi Garcia.
Not just better…he’s a .300 hitter with an OPS at nearly .830 batting from the right side for his career. On the other hand, he’s barely a .200 hitter with an OPS south of .700 from the other side. But let’s be real, Dusty doesn’t look at and/or doesn’t remember the stats…his entire body of work over the last three seasons proved that, but if you still were on the fence, last night ended any debate. PS - There’s no way Click/Dusty would be working together AND doing something intelligent at the same time so there’s almost no way what I’m about to say is even possible. That said, literally there’s only one reason that I would consider doing what he’s done so far by playing him extensively against righties this season. And that’s if you wanted to see if you had a Cedric Mullins 2.0 but Niko is one of those ignorant types who is adamant on not dropping switch hitting…that would be one way to him to make the move
I wish he would have worked on his hitting in the off-season. But, he’s gotten worse apparently. Or, maybe he did work on it and it isn’t paying off. Try or try not. Suck and suck badly.
He’s done. He makes Ausmus look like Mike Piazza at the plate. Hopefully Lee can take over the position either later this year or next season.
There's still legit hope this season... of course, right The franchise and city still underachieves though sports-wise Don't blame the messenger.... It is what it is
