The bad English is clearly an act. Swedes speak and write near perfect English. They don't dub the movies there. Also, if you look at older posts of the same poster, the English is much better.

Here it says it was Germanic based, and I can read beginner level Dutch without having studied it systematically or at all. To my knowledge, Scandinavian languanges are a distant cousin. I speak German and English and it is supposed to be similar, some words are similar but you have to take a language course in order to pick it up.
