No they didn't. They were exploiting something that wasn't a "rule." Hence why they didn't do it in 2018 or 2019 or 2020... And yes, other teams were doing it too. Hell, we admitted at the time we were stealing Darvish pitches. Shame that some Astro fans turned on this team. Please choose another. We don't need people like you back. Cheers.
Thanks for your permission! By your logic, if your spouse is nailing every man they see, it's OK if your wedding vows don't explicitly define cheating?
By your logic the Mitchell report was totally valid and beyond reproach... Baseball is a corrupt sport and it starts at the top.
This place is the most dead-focused place for people to talk about Houston sports teams, especially the Rockets. There's a lot of passion and with that comes a lot of hyper attention to detail and thus more complaining than average. And also a lot of mood swings. You'll see higher highs and lower lows here than anywhere else. If you accept that and roll with it, you'll also see better analysis and insight here than anywhere else. And a lot of generally cool people.
I remember a team that played at the Summit and the Toyota Center, went to the playoffs consistently, hauled in a couple of championships, and was fun as hell to watch in person. I miss the Aeros terribly.
Each team is a billion dollar business. And the refs are human. Of course there's corruption. It's hard to be a sports fan these days.
I think a more apt comparison would be buying something from Walmart and using it for a few weeks, then returning it. Is it wrong? Yeah Is it specifically written in the return policy that it is not permissible? I don't think so Do a lot of people do it? Yes Does Walmart do much to stop it? No
Maybe neither were a good comparison then. An entire city isn't vested in a hypothetical extramarital affair.
