I have been a Rockets fans since 1972, and while I have not always agreed with his moves, I understand the nature of them, and was going to cheer for the team regardless.

But since Tillman took over, and even a little before that, I have seen him undermined by management to where I think for his career it would be best to go somewhere else where there is not the meddling he gets here.

    1. Mike D'Antoni was not his choice, he chose Nick Nurse early on - Les stuck us with short roster no adjustments Mike.

    2. Westbrook was forced down his throat by Tillman's family - no way would Morey trade a highly skilled PG who can also play off the ball and protect it like no other, for a guy who is declining athletically and can't shoot.....and has a longer contract.

I am convinced that Daryl has been undermined here lately - and think it might be time for him to move on.....if he can't supply the vision he will surely be blamed for the failures of others.

What's the evidence for claims #1 and #2?

I wonder seeing Yao getting injured year after year after having high expectations has turned him off to big men.

The Rockets were small to begin with and he traded away Capella!

He had Capella and Harrell at one point on this roster. Unreal

Morey thought it could work. It may or may not work, it just depends if it's coaching or missing few more pieces to the puzzle if harden is that guy.

Look at Barkley he was great just never could be that leader type. Morey though probably top 5 gm of all time, he has pulled some good trades. But maybe his time is running out, who knows. It was ok season at least you got cp3.

I see everyone blaming Tilman but Harden was one of the key reasons why Morey traded for Westbrook, he even came out and said Harden wanted to play next to Westbrook and they made it happen.

I agree with you about Morey going elsewhere though. This franchise desperately needs a restart and that includes cleaning house from top to bottom.

I do not feel bad for fat ass Morey.

It wasn't Nurse. Stephen Silas, James Borrego & Mike D'Antoni.

And what's the excuse for insisting on shooting 50 3 pointers a game but not getting good 3 point shooters?

He can always refuse to be marginalized and look for a job elsewhere.

Or, are you are telling me he can stand up to China but not Tillman?

I agree. I have not liked every move but I understood them.

    Honestly I blame:
    1. coaching deficiencies more than anything else
    2. Bad Luck / Injury
    3. NBA Rigging

I think we need better coaches
    McHale
    DanAndToni
    JVG
Rudy was too sick and tired
    IMO all had deficiencies.
I think we gave up on Rick the Ruler too soon. . . .he simply lacked talent.

Was it Tilman who forced him to give EG an atrocious extension as well? That’s yet another contract that will require assets to move or will have to be shuffled for another sh*t contract at a different position.

also, so many hated Chris Paul last year and wanted him gone, but now want to act like he’s god

this thread is just 1 example of many for how the board felt about CP3 last year

    https://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/cp3-back-injury.296160/page-4

DaDakota was the same one saying our window was closed after severely overpaying Chris Paul and handing him the max

I feel bad for Harden and Morey. Morey is a great GM who I trust to see us through, if we have to rebuild, we have to rebuild.

My friend, if you are the GM of a team and you have no influence on the selection of the coach or the changes of star players, then ... you are the most incompetent GM on the planet.
One way or another, Morey is one of the main people responsible for this.

    Tucker 8 pts 5 rebs 2 asst 1 to
    Coving 5 pts 2 rebs 1 asst 0 to
    WestBr 10 pts 4 rebs 6 asst 3 to
    EGordo 5 pts 2 rebs 1 asst 1 to
    --------------------------------------
    Starte 28 pts 13 rebs 10 asst 5 to

    Harden 30 pts 6 rebs 5 asst 6 to

    Green 13 pts 2 rebs 0 asst
    BMac 9 pts 2 rebs 0 asst
    ARive 9 pts 3 rebs 0 asst

Who wins with these teammates having these numbers????

The problem is everyone performed under expectations
they performed worse than the regular season
    THAT IS THE ISSUE

Say Harden didn't step up . . . BUT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO HAVE STEPPED BACK

Our Rebounding sucked. F*cking Rondo was getting 10 rebs
    Assts??? WHAT ARE THOSE!!!!

If Morey is fired .. . . .He is picked up in minutes
He would immediately try to trade for Harden

    Let's say Philly
Tobias , Horford and Simmons for Harden????
