Chinese Shoe Brand Anta Sports to Suspend NBA Contract Renewal Talks

    The company said it "opposes any action that harms China's interests," per Reuters. Anta reportedly was "dissatisfied" with comments from Morey and league officials.

    Anta is operated in Jinjiang, China, and the company has contracts with a slate of NBA players. Warriors guard Klay Thompson is an Anta athlete, as is Lakers guard Rajon Rondo and Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. Anta is also a sponsor of boxer Manny Pacquiao.

    Anta is basiclly 51% owned by the CCP so this is no surprise. I'd be more surprised to see a pair Anta shoes in person since no-one in America wears them.

    Now my question is, is Nike going to offer DM a shoe deal moving forward? And once they do, where can I purchase said shoes and for how much?

    As more comes out about China's camps and its human rights abuses a lot of these guys are going to feel terrible (At least they should) about what they did for money...money they could have gotten anywhere else. Klay could probably get a Puma or UA deal right now if he wants to.

    Hey now, this is basketball AND it directly affects the rockets. If Klay doesn't sign with a sh!tty shoe brand, maybe he doesn't reaggravate his injury... and maybe he comes back stronger, faster, smarter. Maybe Nike develops a smart shoe that protects players from injury and beta tests it on Klay, and then his superior resilience puts the warriors back at being the darlings of the NBA. You don't know that can't happen... and all because Anta dropped him.

    Klay resigning with GSW in the summer directly affected the Rockets more, but we put that news in The Dish.

    Come on. Everything to do with China doesn’t need to go in the GARM.

    all that means, we may somehow able to sign Iguodala (a former GSW), I don't know how, but hey it is going to happen.
