Don't forget the coach. link:http://www.bizjournals.com/sacramento/stories/2007/12/17/daily1.html Adelman, Wells look to score in China retail market Sacramento Business Journal - by Houston Business Journal Two more members of the Houston Rockets, including head coach Rick Adelman, have joined the effort to establish the team's brand in the burgeoning Chinese retail market. Adelman, former head coach of the Sacramento Kings, has signed on as a consultant to Chinese athletic apparel manufacturer Anta Sports Products Ltd., while guard Bonzi Wells has become the third Houston player to sign an endorsement deal with Anta, joining teammates Steve Francis and Luis Scola on the Anta team. Wells is also a former King. Adelman will work with Chinese basketball players and coaching personnel at a basketball camp to be held at Toyota Center next summer. The camp is one facet of a four-year partnership agreement that the Houston Rockets, Toyota Center and Anta Sports signed in November.
TRADE YAO!!! THE TEAM IS ISOLATING HIM!!! Oh wait.... shoe deals with the Chinese.... team better not isolate him then
Now i know why Bonzi would like to stay, SF would like to come back despite the low pay, and Scola would like to join Rockets. It's all about the potential money, ie Chinese shoe deal.
All these shoe deals going down around the Dec. 15th mark. Maybe some people are trying to cash in while they're still associated with Yao, if you know what I'm sayin'.
LOL ANTA is a ripoff off of the older Chinese brand Li Ning. hahaha. it's like hitler taking the buddhist swastika and tilting it at an angle.
I love all the Rockets players but I have to side with the guys in this thread that we shouldn't reward the under-performers. These guys are collecting shoe deals while playing poor basketball. What kind of signal does it send to the players?
