The whole "Trump unleashed" thing makes me chuckle. If he thinks the Mueller Report (or the Barr Letter, to be precise) frees him to do whatever he wants, he's gonna get sand in his face really quickly. Plenty of time until the 2020 election for folks to remember that, whether or not he is a Russian asset, he is an American *******.
Trump has been personally unpopular long before there was a probe into the Russia stuff. The policies he proposes, whether the cookie cutter Paul Ryan stuff or the immigrant hating stuff, are also unpopular. The GOP lost a lot of House seats in 2018 on these policies. The Mueller probe was not a leading issue for voters in 2018 as I recall. Now that the Mueller probe is over, we just have more oxygen to feed the other reasons why people dislike Trump.
I honestly think the correct and appropriate messaging goes something like this: Okay, he was only collusion curious. Fine. Let's set down his record as golfer and tweeter and self-enricher in chief, shall we?

I know that defunding the Special Olympics is “outrageous,” but the bigger problem with the Education budget is that Devos and the White House are pushing hard for school vouchers again. Is the 25% failure rate due to the failure of charter schools, or do charter schools attract students who are more prone to failure in an academic setting as compared to students in public schools? No one would argue against the importance of increasing graduation rates. And improving school and teacher performance are both good things. But right now, teachers are underpaid and overworked already. Too many kids in classes and not enough parent involvement in the education of their children. While the author (a child psychiatrist, not an educator) of the article offers a laundry list of possible fixes like year-round and longer school days along with take away power from unions, fire school administrators, eliminate tenure. And, charter schools, school vouchers. But what was most interesting was the end of the article where the authors touts the importance of school choir. Which often is one of the first cuts. So... he is suggesting making teachers work more, but doesn't mention increasing teacher pay. And more extracurricular activities like choir. Somehow I don't see that flying... And of course, none of this address proposed elimination of Special Olympics funding.
Such a shame... people with very personal reasons to be upset about the the Special Olympics funding will be ended if the davos proposal is approved...
