I get the impression he's more offense...but let's hope so.

Unless the defensive guy you're talking about is someone who can shut down the likes of Lebron, Kobe and Durant on a regular basis, adding more perimeter defense won't do squat. If you can find that two-way player who can shut elite superstars down and still score 16 ppg, then yeah that's a clear cut upgrade. Where is this guy though? He just doesn't exist, because due to the NBA system today dominant offensive talents will always get "theirs" no matter how good your perimeter defense is.

With Kmart in the lineup our offense became number 1 despite not having that franchise superstar or a defensive 7 foot shotblocker. You're talking about trading the primary reason for that number 1 ranking just to bump up the defense a little bit. So the net result is that you downgrade the offense a lot from elite to average, while you increase the defense a little bit from awful to mediocre. No offense DD, but that's a stupid strategy. Rather than trading away Mr. "Fool's Gold", the focus should be on getting a paint protector. Once we have that the defensive issues will go away and you'll still have that elite offense.
