I don't buy it as a legit rumor yet but....

Capela (S&T for a decent longterm deal), Gordon, and a first rounder would actually not be that bad at all for the Spurs. Kinda makes the Spurs a pretty decent team again too. Not a contender, but they would have some nice players and one of the best big man rotations in the league.

Also... I think Lebron is the GOAT, but damn... Kawhi is the perfect fit as the 3rd star on this team. Just as long as he's okay playing off the ball again. He'll have to realize he will not be creating virtually any shots himself anymore.

This would be amazing but seems too unrealistic.

Have ppl forgotten (or just didn't know) that:
    • At 25.5 ppg, Kawhi scored the most PPG of any Pops player ever (winning 61 games), on the 27th slowest paced team
    • At 38.9 pts per 100 possessions, Kawhi scored more than Harden, and the most pts/100 of any Pops player ever
    • Kawhi is 26 yrs old
When no Pops player has ever done that before, it means he isn't getting all his shots playing like Klay in some elaborate motion. It means Pops changed the offense for him (successfully, considering they won 61 games). He was ISO'd and was *very* good at it. Indeed, his combined Frequency of touches in ISO or as ball-handler in PnR was 37%. MDA is not going to ignore that, if Pops didn't. Another 15% was combined Post-Ups and Handoffs (basically, inverse PnR or Pistol). So, over 50% of his game, scoring more pts per 100 than Harden, was not out of motion that we don't already run.

Kawhi is a legitimate Top 5 player

If we get Kawhi, Daryl's nuts will be so sore from slamming them repeatedly on the dresser.

Stranger things have happened but this still is on the very left hand side of a unlikely to likely bar.

    Eh sounds bogus.

But if true. Need to find a EG replacement, ASAP.

How is this thread 15 pages? The article was just going through a bunch of teams and listing hypothetical trades proposals. The thread title is clickbait to the max.

If the report is true that he wants the Clippers over the Lakers because he doesn't want to be second fiddle it's hard to imagine him being happy being part of a big 3 here.

Winning cures all. Getting a second Finals MVP will turn that frown upside down

Sounds like they aren't getting strong offers for him.

-Lakers want to get him as a free agent next year
-Boston and Philly don't want to give up any cheap, young high upside assets
-Other teams are rebuilding or don't think Kawhi will resign with them

Maybe this is their best offer, but they probably don't want Capela on just a qualifying offer.

I don't think it would be Capela on a qualifying offer. You S&T Capela on a 3 year/ $60 million deal to match salaries with Leonard. Then you do a simultaneous trade where Gordon goes to SA and the Spurs sends back a player of equivalent salary (Patty Mills, Danny Green, etc.).
