If it wasnt for some judge kid, Yuli had a chance for ROY honors.

Judge can have the ROTY award, Yuli is going to get a ring and can call himself a World Series champion.

Pretty crazy how the first five is what we used to win the World Series.

Such a good deal to have Yuli for three more years for cheap compared to his production.

He is going to get better through his contract I believe.

I don't expect much surplus value out of Yuli's contract. He's already been forced down the defensive spectrum by Bregman and his 1B defensive numbers were not good. His 2017 salary was $14.4m and according to Fangraphs WAR/Value he was worth $14.6m.

He could potentially slide even further to DH if the Astros want to get clever.

By purely offensive metrics like wRC+ he'll need to be in the 120 range just to match his salary, probably higher if he goes to DH later on in the contract. That'll be tough for a guy going into his age 34-36 seasons.

He's a rock solid piece in the lineup but I doubt he's got a lot of untapped upside given his age and defense. Even so I'm totally happy he's a part of our WORLD SERIES CHAMPION HOUSTON ASTROS #GOSTROS #EARNEDHISTORY

He improved from year 1 to year 2 and led the league in MPH off the bat. The guy knows how to square up baseballs.

His BABIP was .308 while leading in MPH off the bat. He was unlucky this year. He should have a natural increase in average/RBI's next year.

Not sure about all the stats but his defense also seemed to get better as the season progressed. He was a nightmare those first couple of months, but based on the eye test he was pretty solid late, especially in the playoffs.

Regardless, he is a terrific hitter and someone that is a huge plus to the team both on the field and in the clubhouse.

So they got fair production for what they paid him. That's wonderful. With all the value they are getting from Altuve, Springer, Correa, Keutchel, etc. they are in a great condition.

Still so excited about the World Series championship...

    I agree with this.

Idc what anyone says. This guy is an offensive savant. Clutch hit after clutch hit. He can hit any pitcher at any time. I think he had the second highest batting percentage on the team in the postseason.

He hit every single team we played.

And he hit their best pitchers too.

I think he'll play good enough next year to be considered at least an all star snub. But I think as he gets more comfortable he'll get more of his swagger, which made him one of International baseballs super stars for nearly a decade before he signed to play MLB.

    I agree.

Yuli could have a lot more value to another team that can play him at 3rd or 2nd. The Marlins firesale is about to begin, how about sending him down there in a package for Yelich?

Improve our outfield defense by moving Springer back to a corner and improve the infield defense by getting Yuli off first base and replaced by Marwin or Reed or Moran or whomever.

    Just an idea.

This post-season more than any I can remember strongly favored aggressive hitters. Guys like Yuli took the game out of the hands of the umps, who had some ridiculous strike zones.

Thank god a lot of you guys aren’t GM’s lol.

    Yuli ain’t going anywhere.

Idk after a World Series win how anyone can even suggest replacing Yuli with AJ Reed. -_-

Sure, lets break up the team that just won the world series and more than a few players who are capable of getting even better. Nope.

Don't break up that chemistry. Yuli is a key cog on this team.
