Since I've been nerding out on the Star Trek Deep Space Nine thread thought I would ask this:

Man versus machine is a popular theme in Sci-Fi and recently there have been three very successful sci-fi franchise around that theme.

    Battlestar Galactica

    The Matrix

    Terminator

Just wondering what people's favorites are?

terminator's definitely a better series, but the first matrix is so much more than its greatness as a film, it set another bar in the sci fi genre with special effects and story. come on, is there any greater scene in any terminator than when neo awakens from the matrix and is unplugged. to me its right up there the the realizing that bruce willis was a ghost. as great as terminator is, it didn't do that.

Blade Runner shouldn't be listed as it is more machine vs machine.

I prefer the matrix as man vs machine.

Uh, okay eMat. Back to a deadly serious discussion of science fiction films. In fact, please contribute further by being the 8th person to post "Terminator blows all others away." It makes for an enjoyable thread.

By the way, Post #13 was completely serious. Killdozer is better than the terminator films, and all those who have seen Killdozer are welcome to debate the topic.
