ctrl+alt +right or left or up or down arrow key changes your screen up to right or to left or upside down on my windows 7 Dell. My cat found this and it took me forever to figure it out.
the one I use the most is ctrl-alt-shft-Z: moves my active window from monitor to monitor of course that macro was created within UltraMon.
I can't live w/o it....using the middle button/mouse wheel on a tab closes the tab. If you're on a laptop, sometimes pressing both "mouse" buttons on the pad will simulate the middle button. Another mouse wheel trick....For zoom: hold ALT, then mouse wheel up or down. Browser: Ctrl+Number key on the top row= The order the tab is on the screen (up to 9 since ctrl+0 resets zoom). Useful for switching of screens like a one-handed pro
These haven't been mentioned so far (text editors): Shift+Home/End - Highlight from the cursor to the beginning/end of the current line. Ctrl+Shift+Home/End - Highlight from the cursor to the beginning/end of the document.
To make it bigger. Right click picture and view image. Then hold CRT and tap + sign for your viewing pleasure
Sometimes I have to write in Portuguese, so: Control + shift + the 6 key (then type the vowel) gives me, say, ê And control + shift + ` (then type the vowel) gives me ã.
Didn't read the rest, so these may have already been mentioned: alt+tab to switch between windows. control+alt+up arrow - it's a surprise. Pugs
Nice thread! You said SHORTCUTS? I gots ShortCuts, sir. New: Any TRUE Windows application will let you do CTRL+HOME or CTRL+END to go to either beginning or end of a document or current section. Windows 7: Animated ALT+Tab Everyone Knows ALT+Tab, but hold Windows+Tab (then hold Windows and press Tab repeatedly goes through the applications. Release the Windows Key when you get to the app you want to see in the front. Regular Alt+Tab on drugs Hold Alt and press Tab. Continue to press Tab while holding Alt to get to an application. Missed one? Press the ARROW keys to go up and down while holding ALT to return or go down to one on any side. SHAKE IT UP! Click and hold a restored window's title bar. Shake the mouse pointer while holding, and all the other raised windows minimize. Shake the mouse pointer again while holding, and all the windows will restore. Application Options from the Task Bar Click and hold an application's open window button on the task bar. Drag it up, and you'll see options that you usually get from the File menu of the program. Release while going up, and you can now choose one of those options. Bonus: Move out of the way, window! Want to see what's behind the current window? Hold WindowsKey and press LEFT Arrow. The window will align on the left. Hold WindowsKey and press UP Arrow, and the window maximizes. Hold the WindowsKey and press RIGHT Arrow, and the Window moves to the right. You can stack similar windows (2 Notepad or 2 Windows Explorer, for example) this way, next to each other, to compare, too.
