The Bucks made the announcement Friday night before their game against the Indiana Pacers. Yi, the No. 6 pick in the 2007 draft, hurt his knee early in the first quarter of the Bucks' victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Coach Larry Krystkowiak was optimistic that the 20-year-old Yi would be ready to play for China in this summer's Olympics. However, he'll need two to three weeks of rest and rehabilitation before resuming basketball activities. "The news was better than it could have been,'' Krystkowiak said. Yi, who averaged 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 66 games, has missed eight games since Feb. 5 with various injuries, including five from March 7-15 with a sprained right wrist. I told you guys at the beginning of the season that Yi sucks. A player got outplayed by WZZ in CBA just can't do it in the NBA. The reason Bucks wanted him so bad is because the market behind him is huge. He need to bulk him up and develop some post moves quick in the offseason. Then he might become a decent NBA player. But similar to Yao's situation, due to the commitment to CNT, he might only get very little time to do some real training.
I am from china. The reason Bucks wanted him so bad is not all because the market behind him is huge. He need to bulk him up and develop some post moves quick and make better stronge in the offseason. so in my opinion,YI will become a star in the future.
