thinking you know where a complete stranger lives based on an internet respsonse = not a stanford mba from palo alto
we are expected to believe that yao used badass, which is a bad word, in a sentence? sorry not buying it. (this is a cue for someone to post video of yao cursing on the clippers)
Response Agreed. However, Rockets management did a very bad job in communicating this decision, but I rather see Lin play more with Bev and Garcia. One troubling development is that Parsons is trying to play like he's LeBron. Gotta develop T Jones to play a better PF as soon as possible. Should not have let Anderson go, I always thought. I would kept Anderson over Brooks.
Response There is no exact word for "badass" in Chinese, but I tend to think it was a pretty accurate translation.
It's an interview on Chinese TV translated into English by bob718. Fault Bob for that choice of word if you're so anal about it
I am a native Chinese speaker & a functionally native English speaker but I just cannot fathom how to curse in Chinese. Whenever I think about it, everything I come up with is in English.
I wasn't going for anal, not my thing. It just reminded me when yao said, " you can't f'ing stop me." <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Jss1xEzh5b4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
1st, yao didn't mention one word regarding defense advantage bev has over lin. yao doesn't share what many posters here believe. 2nd, yao's point is making sense. but on the flip side, bev's offense limitation could be very well attributed to what kind of opponents. let's say what offense result we can expect if bev played against a bunch of high school kids. I bet he should have MJ stats. what I am trying to say is to let him play against other team backups. his offense may be pretty good. with his defense intensity, he may be able to shutdown the opponent backups and put up decent offense # to give starters more rest.
Yao did imply in the interview that Bev plays better D, which is part of the reason why he thinks Bev Yang should start over Jeremy Yin. Except it wasn't reflected in Bob's translation. Do not doubt THE YAO!
Sampson is the defense coach. He can instruct players, but that doesn't mean the players will execute. Remember when everyone was on Frank Vogel's case on that defensive play against the Heat? Pops did the same thing but there was hardly a peep from from fans the media because the Spurs players did what they were supposed to do.
