The Rox are really going to have to consider keeping Yao's playing time down to, say, 24 minutes a game or we'll never make it through the playoffs. I am not knocking him but past history on big men in the NBA break down in their feet and knees first from all the stress. Just a fact of life with him.

They have shown they can dominate on the court with this team, but Yao's playing time just has to be limited until the playoffs start.

I think I'll have this sinking feeling for a while...

We have extremely talented players in the league who are selfish, have no work ethic, and a sense of entitlement. Yao is the complete opposite of all that and this happens to him?! This just ain't right...

Forget about China... the Dr just said YAO expressed great concern about whether or not he'd be able to play in the Olympics.

Its a huge honor for Yao to play for his country with the Olympics in his country... and all of us shouldn't be quick to dismiss that just because it may risk injury and prevent him from playing for OUR favorite team.

Yao wants to play for his country.

I wouldn't say post season hopes have dwindled. Portland is done, Denver is self destructing (and Camby is bound to get hurt any day now if history means anything), and Golden State seems lost to me. I'm ready for T-Mac to show exactly what he's made of. Remember last season when he carried us after Yao's broken leg? That was MVP caliber.

although I don't think they're soft, because of their injuries (I think they're soft, because of other reasons)...I understand your frustration.....they are just 2 guys who can't stay healthy and at times can be physically and mentally soft................that will never cut it if you're going to be a "serious" championship contender............

The season will continue and I believe that they will make the playoffs, BUT this is not news that helps. When Rudy had to leave due to cancer, the Rockets were still in playoff contention and then proceeded to lose the rest of their games.

I think the remaining homestand and in particular tonight and friday are HUGE games. Every game is big in the west this season but these are HUGE for another reason. How will the Rockets respond to this setback?

This is a setback. Of big proportions, so it will be interesting to see how they respond and what I will be looking for is who will be the one to rally the players on the court.
