I think there has to be some truth to both Yao and Aaron being out until at least December 15th so the Rockets can field offers for them. If they come back prematurely and get re-injured, they can't be traded...

I don't think it has anything to do with that at all.

I think they are worried about the fragile chemistry and that they have dug such a deep hole they will find the best place to work them in one at a time.

Yao is ready, AB is not.....

Let's follow this and see what happens.

How many practices have you been too to declare Yao Ming ready? Your not Morey, Les Alexander or Adelman. You know as much as the average joe does about Yao and Brooks situation. For a average fan to declare Yao ready is a joke and laughable.

My gut feeling is that Yao is being Tmac'd, Adelman doesn't want an oft injured star player bringing down the rest of the team that's trying to build chemistry. It's been Adelman's MO throughout his coaching career.

AB is just a matter of getting healthy.

There is nothing average about my fandom...

    ;)

I believe Yao is ready, and not in pain, I think the organization is taking it very slow, for obvious reasons.

None because he has not been cleared to rejoin the team practice. Should the big fella (per his doc, probably the best in the biz and looking out for Yao's interest) be able to say he is at least ok to practice.

If you believe he is unfit to practice because Yao and his doc don't know what they are talking about, you are a fool.

More and more to me JVG is behind Yao's frustration.

should he just start saying no comment?

i thought he was pretty diplomatic and avoided some trap questions.

Not sure it's a full TMac or not, but it's true that giving a star player "rehab minutes" is generally not good for the team's W/L records when the guy is not 100%. Adelman got burned with Webber's comeback bid and I think is reasonably cautious.

On the other hand, the fact that the medical staff is keeping Yao out of practice (practice, not a game, we talking practice) makes me think their concerns about ankle strength is a legitimate one. Practice don't count in the standings, right?

And by the way... Kevin Martin truly has something against Tyreke Evans, or at least against how the Kings anointed Tyreke and cast Martin aside, look at the quote below.

Just because you believe Yao is ready, doesn't really mean he is even close. You or I don't know how he looks behind the scenes during shooting drills to see how he moves to declare him ready. Quit acting like a GM or a coach and enjoy the game of basketball. Believe me, if you knew it all like you think you do, Daryl would have been fired and you would be the GM.

i like that he said what he did - it shows he has some fight in him - he is frustrated and wants to get back on the court. i dont think his comments were disrespectful at all...quite the opposite - he knows everyone has his best interests in mind.

“I won’t push the trainer or the doctor. They all try to treat me the best that they can. It’s not something like that. I know they try to find the best way for me to get back on the court.”

This seems to be eerily similar to the treatment of Tmac when he said he's ready to play and Adelman won't let him even though there is nothing wrong with him. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and i wish Yao say the hell with them and join a different better team next year.

This. Adelman doesn't want complicated lineups, its just added work for him. Just like how he hated Tmac having 7 mins of PT and juggling between him, Wafer, Battier and Artest, he also doesn't like Yao having a 24 time limit with Miller, Hayes and Hill on the roster. My guess is he keeps yao out until the limit is lifted.

I think you nailed it V3.0,

And with the hole they have dug themselves, I think they want to get on a run before they add him back, and probably in a much smaller capacity.

    I disagree.
First we are talking about practice, not a game. I am not sure other team's medical staff would hold out their player for a practice when the player says he is ok to practice. Physical recovery can be examined, but you need practice to tell if the player is game ready. Right now the staff is effectively saying Yao has not physically recovered from his injury. To me that is a decision Yao and his doc are in the best position to make.

Second, more cynical, there is obvious reason for not permitting Yao to join practice other than medical concern. If Yao is cleared to practice, and shows he is game ready, it will be difficult for RA not to play.

The true reason to me thus is chemistry and the 24 minute ban. Like I said, RA gotta be pissed with that ban. He is taking a jab back at the management. I think he is saying if Yao's ready, he has to play w/o ban, or otherwise he is not ready.

But, it's been proven that there was something wrong with TMac and that Adelman was correct.
