Magic was a better scorer than T-Mac. He had a .520 career field goal percentage compared to T-Macs .439. Magic only averaged 3 career points lower than T-Mac, but could easily surpass him if that was his objective.

Mike James was part of the rotation. As a matter of fact the big reason why Detroit won was becasue of their bench. I believe they had the best bence in the NBA that year.

So you really think that Magic was a better scorer than T-mac when he was Orlando?

I don't underestimate Magic. I just don't think he could have avg. 30 points a game in one whole season and playoffs.

dude. you realize how many points per game the 80s basketball teams were scoring?

seriously if i had a million dollars to buy a time machine, you are the first person i'm sending back with front court seats to every NBA game.

can't compare stats from different era's - in those days shooting 50% or better was far more common - today's Defense is much improved.

i'm talking about in our rotation, not theirs. mj and deke are not part of the rotation. our rotation has zero experience at winning in the first round except maybe bonzi - it's not just t-mac

exactly my point - KG as great as he is, needed a strong supporting cast to get out of the first round.

T-mac hasn't had that. You can't just say Yao is a supporting cast. And KG had more than Sam Cassell (a prior championship guard no less).

This is the first year t-mac has a supporting cast around him that's really good, but unfortunately, in the west, just making it to the second round is hard enough.

well Tmac has an All Star Center as a side kick.

i beg to differ. That Rockets team that lost to Dallas was a good team.

Yes I understand that. But in my opinion I don't think Magic was a great scorer.

yao was not a true all-star in 04-05. he had a few games where he scored in single digits. dallas was not doubling him one bit and all the attention was on tmac. bob sura had more of an impact on that series than yao.

yao is much improved now and is a borderline superstar. plus, we have more capable role players than ever before.

Blame the refs! Finley was out of bounds when he stripped the ball!

today's defense is much improved? in what way? defensive 3 seconds? the hand checking foul?

if players from the 80's were to play in today's game, they'd have scored even more points than they already did.
