I feel bad for Yao, but the Rockets should have dealt him when he had value. We all saw something like this coming.

Adrian Wojnarowski and Yahoo Sports have been all on top of most sports stories - especially NBA and NCAA hoops related over the past couple of years. Putting ESPN to shame really.

    This too is likely true.

The Chronicle RARELY breaks news stories, they do what the Rockets tell them to do...

The talk about seeing 3 more specialists this week is bothersome, you can't report it if it is not true...

Dang...if this is true, then it sucks.

If I were Yao, I would say "No more surgery" let it heal on it's own...however long it takes.

on a positive note, the DRAFT 2011 forum should generate a lot of hits from this point forward.

No. I just mean a story like the one reported will go cause this forum to go nuts like it already is.

The team will basically have to give Ron what ever he wants so the organization has some kind of well known player that they can market and sell tickets with.

Thank you for the instant lowering of expectations for next season. Rockets could make a move but replacing Yao is a big problem. As far as what happens with Yao going forward, it doesn't look good. I would say the odds of a fracture in the same foot go up for the remainder of his career given it's been a problem for him thus far...even if the foot is supposedly fully healed.

I want to pass this article as just propaganda by the writer to gain readers in the boring months of summer, but nothing surprises me anymore. If he can't heal naturally, why not try some magical flaxseed oil? At most a 12 game suspension, or rest time. =)

I dont understand how it went from Yao not opting for surgery and letting his injury heal on its own, which is obviously the less extreme form of recovery, to now he "may never play again, or may miss the entire season"? By not having surgery it made it seem like "Ok he's hurt and he has to shut it down for a little bit, but its not severe enough for a medical procedure that would make the significance of the damaged area more worrisome" but that's not the case here. It's going from one end of the spectrum to the next
