i can't even imagine how many championships we would have won the past 4 years if we had kept shaun livingston. probably like 7 or 8. texans would've probably won a couple super bowls. astros at least make the world series a couple of times. oil probably still at $100 keeping the houston economy thriving.

i don't see what that has to do with it. you just sign people and keep signing them. what's the league going to do? invalidate the signings based on what, the rules? come on now.

The entire course of the 2016 election could have changed.

Then the SG position has been a huge hole since we got Harden.

Harden is the best PG plucked from thin air by Morey.

    :p:p:p

But yes, due to Harden's style, it is much harder to find a PG that fits him. Maybe Bev is the best thing we can do. Maybe we should be looking for a playmaker SF. Ariza is good for the D part, but not a playmaker.

Parsons is overrated. I would give Batum a shot

You're going to have to pay double Ariza's salary easily for Batum, and still have to find a way to ship out Ariza and Brewer. Or else you'd have $32m+/yr on Batum, Brewer and Ariza. Or $38m+ including Beverley.

Livingston is a nice story, though one that took THREE seasons to make

Lin and Beverly in place was sufficient, he wouldn have moved the needle more than them. That said Livingston even then was MUCH more trusty than Scott Machado. Perhaps over valuing cap flexibility over ready contributors

(Though even MORE, it's that logic that makes you go with Corey Brewer over KJ McDaniels and the sort)

    vs

    Draymond Green under Steve Kerr

DD, while I won't debate the merits of your overall argument (although I don't particularly agree with you), I think you need to find some better examples to make your point.

Parsons - maybe (although they were seeking cap flexibility)
Livingston - agreed (although they were seeking cap flexibility)
Scola - cost them MORE money (paid most of his remaining salary while also spending what those "cap dollars" would've been on Dwight)
Thornton - cost them MORE money (paid his full salary with no set off and replaced him with Goudelock, whose salary they had to pay)
Lawson - cost them MORE money (saved only $225k, got no set off and replaced him with Beasley, whose salary was more than what they saved)

Exactly, Livingston averaged 6 ppg this year! Even after Houston he bounced around.

I didn't see anyone clamoring for this during the conference finals last year, or even a month ago really.

Beverley averaged 10 ppg this year. But I'd rather have Livington. Wouldn't you?

    Ariza is better than Parsons.

How many rings does Parsons have?
