I'm probably just as critical of the Lin signing as the next man but it has little or no effect on our bottom line. Lin's contract is only for 3 years. Parsons is only a 2nd year player on a 4 year rookie scale contract. When his contract is up so is Lin's.

The only salary cap problem I see for us is Asik possibly getting a max contract and we still haven't found that all-star PF to pair him with. If Lin doesn't bounce back Morey will first look to move him but the worst case scenario is that his contract expires and we move on 3 years from now.

I've joked about it but Parsons is actually still underrated. And, since he's a high energy defensive player first he'll likely always be undervalued. Basically, he's worth more to us than I see us getting for him. Sure, I'd trade him in a package for a true star but not if it means bringing on a mammoth contract for a guy that won't take us anywhere (ie, danny granger, iguodala, etc.)

Lin is still coming back from injury, which is the reason he moves slower than last season and have not regained his shooting touch yet. Livingston is not getting more than 5 min anywhere, whether he outplayed recovering Lin in preseason or not.

I wished they had kept him. He outplayed ever pg in preseason and if it wasn't for the money issue I think they would have kept him. People don't always see that having a veteran on your team is important for guidance with the younger players. He might have been a factor in Lin's confidence.

My mistake. I thought Parson's contract ended in 2014. It ends in 2015, just like Lin. Repped for accuracy.

The "pleading" could be real. But throwing Lin in the decision sounds like pure speculation.

I wanted them to keep Livingston. He's not much of a shooter. But he can run the offense much better than Douglas.

The national media has to find a way to rain on our parade. There's absolutely no way that Houston might have made some good decisions over New York. There's absolutely no way that Houston might be growing into a future top tier team. New York, Miami, LA, Brooklyn, LA, bluh bluh bluh bluh bluh...

The players and coaches pleaded for Livingston to stay because he was by far the most capable backup point guard to Jeremy Lin. You and i know that.

Those who are assuming they wanted to keep Livingston because they didn't trust Lin.. seriously? Quit making everything about Lin and coming up with conspiracy theories. You're falling right into the reporter's trap.

They cut Livingston due to financial constraints?

I bet having the comcast deal would have allowed us to keep him.

I'm not surprised here. Morey is controlling these muppets. No stat background, don't want.

Yeah - he's really proving we made a HUGE mistake by cutting him.
Has played 21 minutes per contest with the Wizards, and is scorching it at 35% from the field, 0% from downtown and 5.3ppg. I'm sure his 3 assists per contest make it all worthwhile though?

So basically he's as crap as Douglas, but without a 3 point shot.

And would have cost us $2m per season more.

I fail to see the 'potential' in a guy who can't shoot or get his own shot....

Whoever is actually buying into the article has a serious agenda against our current PG. If the same kind of deceptive writing to stir controversy was written for Parsons, no one would be buying into anything the article is saying. The biggest hint is "sources said". But hey believe what you want to believe I guess.

Livingston was hired as starter PG for Washington Wizards.

its better than be our second or third PG.

    wish the best for him.

i was real sad when he was waived.

as much than Josh Harrelson , Jeremy Jordan, Fogg, Darius and Forbes, Lamb and Martin were gone. Not much for big mounth Jajuan.

I think JuJuan Johnson would have produced solid numbers if given an opportunity. an athletic 7 footer that can knock down a turnaround jumper and block shots? I think the Rockets should have at least left him with the Vipers for some months.
