LOL. You think The Nets are going to just say "We know Dwight is coming he but here is Brook Lopez for your troubles". My guess is Morey is in the middle of this snagging Lopez and giving the Magic some young guys, a pick and maybe Sammy D.

Magic is going to demand Brooks in that trade, and that is for sure/

Even if you include Houston's #1 obligation and a Nets #1...ouch...but better than nothing.

I love professional sports. If you're traded by your team, no hard feelings, it's a business. If you leave your team via free agency, you're a diva, a traitor, a p***y, etc. Gotta love it.

Didn't you read the Article? Dwight said he doesn't want to Nets to lose assets so he's giving all the leverage to the Nets to wait it out. The Nets don't need him now because they are out of the playoff race and they won't offer the nets ****.

I still see the Rockets getting in the middle of this either to add picks and a young player for Dwight or help send Dwight to NJ and reunite him with Courtney Lee and get back Lopez.

How exactly is he screwing over his team by deciding where he wants to go as a free agent?

By making public declarations, he is driving down his trade value...

I read the article and all the other rumor based articles that have come out. My take is he gave them a list of preferred teams and has pretty much let it be known that he may sign with Jersey this summer. Either way, he doesn't owe it to them to tell them jack just like no one cared when we surprised Battier or Landry by trading them. Dude is a upcoming free agent. Even if he doesn't have his mind made up now that's completely ok.

Find myself wondering if Dwill will even stay there if Howard does show up on the Nets. If anything, i still think we should send Lowry to the nets for Dwill and then get back to the lakers on the Gasol trade. Then pray the knicks continue to suck it up and get a decent draft pick.

I don't understand why shoe companies want their basketball player to play in a big market. If the player is good then he'll get recognition. Its the 21st Century, people who can afford $100+ shoes have the internet. I'm pretty sure Lebron sold a lot of shoes when he was playing in Cleveland.

I hope Dwight doesn't make a decision. The funny part is nobody would care if kevin Martin made a decision show.

I guess. No team is going to trade anything significant for him without knowing if he will resign or not. If we traded for him and then he left then we would all be mad and screaming "you should have told us you were leaving before we traded for you".

Let's stop penalizing players for putting themselves #1 when it comes to their free agency.

Yes I did but I still think Howard wants his money - this is his "I'll walk for nothing" speech. The Nets don't need him now but Howard needs the Nets now to get fully paid - plus you don't want Howard to change his mind...again. If the Nets want to do him a solid, they will make an attempt without gutting the team. The team pretty much stays intact except for losing 2 expiring Cs which Howard will more than make up for.

The only way the Rockets get involved here is when our pick heads to Orlando. That sneaky Morey...

This is why i really hope Morey won't trade for him. Dwight's infatuated with fame and will not stay here. Orlando will regret not trading him.

the issue isn't leaving, but asking for a trade before the contract is up and making the whole thing a show....DH should have kept his mouth shut and just said he'd deal with it once his contract was up.

They probably have larger offices there, which allow them to interact with the player more frequently and face to face. Plus the player will get to do more appearances and at more popular places. He may also pick up other endorsement deal, which is always good because he'll still be associated with Adidas by fans. In other words, he'll be more famous, which drives sales.
