It's not. ZBS is completely misunderstood . The Texans will be running a modified version of the ZBS like many other teams in the league, including New England.

Never a bad idea to build up the trenches. Football games are won in the trenches. We do gotta come away with a QB before the end of the night though.

Great. We got a guard to protect Fitzpatrick. It's like buying a really good safe and then taking a **** in it.

Yeah picking a QB without a sufficient line to protect him worked out really well the first time......SMH some fans never learn.

Remember when we had a good line?

    Schaub was a good QB.

The other thing I love about this pick is that it will allow us to finally cut Keo. League-mandated Polynesian quota fulfilled.

I think they filled a need and did a good job of it with one of the top players at the position. You can't always have a sexy pick. Sometimes you need people that will jump right in and start day one and do the dirty work.

I think he is that guy and we have 2 starters already.

Well, by that metric, Kareem Jackson was a Day 1 starter. This guy is a legit prospect who can be expected to start (and contribute) from Day 1.

We've got a ton of holes, and Smith/O'Brien need to come out of this draft with at least 4 starters. So far, so good.

I think we have most of our starters on defense (could still use a MLB, DE, and nickle corner):
    Jackson-Swearinger-Clemons-JJoe
    Clowney-ILB (Brooks?)-Cushing-Mercilus
    DE-Powe/Mathews-Watt

    Offense:
    OL: Brown/Su'a-Filo/Myers/Brooks/Newton or Williams
Backs and Receivers: Johnson/Hopkins/Graham/Foster/FB or WR
    QB: Fitz or Keenum

So still a couple of more holes to fill + some much-needed depth.

Kareem Jackson was a day one starter, just not a very good one.

This should be an interesting few hours. I'd like to see us move up and get two more picks on the night.

Saw a documentary on Samoan NFL players and how they are brought up, they are ****ing crazy! Practice barefoot on concrete field.

Dude looks to have a high motor which is an extremely awesome attribute.

People love this pick for us:

GREAT pick with Su’a-Filo. My top rated guard on the board. He’s powerful, mean and has very good feet.

    — Lance Zierlein (@LanceZierlein) May 9, 2014

Su’a-Filo is a total boss. The best pure guard in this class. Pear shaped, but so agile. Aggressive. #Texans.

    — Josh Norris (@JoshNorris) May 9, 2014

Xavier Su’a-Filo had a top 15 grade for us. Instant starter, great value.

    — Dan Kadar (@MockingTheDraft) May 9, 2014

Su’a-Filo Won the Morris Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding offensive lineman in the Pac-12. #texans

    — James Palmer (@JPalmerCSN) May 9, 2014

Su’a-Filo is a stud. He’s buries guys. Extreme power and leverage.

It's so nice that we're not picking light, "quick", zone-blocking-only guys anymore that get blown backward when we play big D-lines. It'll be nice to be able to play smash-mouth football for the first time ever!
