I never do this, but this should be interesting. I realize he probably won't sign with Houston, but lets just juggle this idea around. If the Kidd trade goes down and NJ buys Stackhouse out, would you want him on our team? I'd love him, though I bet he will either go to the Suns, Lakers, Celtics, Cavs, or possibly resign with Dallas.

    Thoughts?

I'd take him just to keep any of our rivals from getting him.

I would sign him just to make him clean the bathrooms in the TC.

I'd take Stack... but I'm not sure who's minutes he'd be taking except I guess he could have Luther Heads minutes.

HELL NO! I hate this piece of crap! I am still pissed the Rockets haven't laid his sorry ass out for that dunking in the last game when it was a blowout and he decide to dunk the ball with 20 seconds left in the game and no Rocket player playing defense! AND it was at the TC! That is disrespectful and I wish we had Hakeem or MadMax or Cassell to teach this b**** something about respect!

To all you saying no: Ummm what?? Stackhouse would be a big addition to this club! Not to mention, it sticks it to Dallas. I hope we go after him, though we'd have to release somebody to do this. We're not getting a Gasol or Shaq to come help us compete - but a Stackhouse would be a significant addition that would only help our playoff chances. I don't see how you DON'T gauge his interest.

I would rather go to the Lakers, Suns, or Celtics if any of those teams offered me a contract. The best chances of winning would NOT be the Mavs. The Cavs can use him too and he'd have significant playing time as well.

    HeckYES. VeryYES.

Don't y'all imagine that many GMs are calling and saying that they'll trade for him and give expirings and draft picks or other assets desired by Nets? I sure expect that Thorn and Kiki's cell pones are fielding copious amounts of calls.

Trading for him means you have to keep his salary. Teams wanting to pick him up are hoping the Nets buy him out and then you sign him for the vet minimum. Otherwise, I think he is due like 21 million bucks on his deal and I doubt anyone wants to trade to get that contract for Stackhouse.

Personally, I dislike Jerry Stackhouse and I don't even think he would even fit in. If Mike James isn't fitting in, how on earth will Stack be? Besides, our chemistry is finally improving and we don't need another mediocre player on this team.

No. I think his fg% is lower than 40% this season.

Waiting only 30 days to sign back with your former team? So easy a caveman can do it.

He has already stated he will resign with Dallas, he is not going anywhere or nowhere....

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7793458?MSNHPHMA

Now I think it's pretty much a done deal," Stackhouse told The Associated Press.

Stackhouse added that he may be able to rejoin Dallas within 30 days, an indication the Nets would buy out his contract.

"I feel great. I get 30 days to rest, then I'll be right back," he said. "I ain't going nowhere."
