Given Shaqs condition and age, would you trade Yao Ming for Shaq??

Uuuh. Yeah!!! I think it is a long shot that Ming ever becomes as dominant as Shaq. Shaq still has many years left.

The one reason to not do it though is we would have to root for Shaq. That would be hard.

A Shaq in hand is worth 2 in the Forum, or something like that...

i'm gonna say no. shaq probably gives us an immediate ring but how much more satisfying would it be to have this team gel together and compete for more in a few years? that's what i want to see. who knows how good ming will become but i want to watch the team grow together and become champions. theres no guarantee's here but the other way feels cheap. :D

Short term gain versus long term reward/enjoyment...I'd take the latter.

Do I need to think about it?

    Nope. Yes in a second.

As much as I like Ming, a ring is a ring.

It'll be the best that we send Ming and Kt for Shaq, use him for one year, win a ring then ship him back for Ming only. The equation now becomes Kt = A ring. :D

Could you imagine Shaq, Francis, Mobley, Thomas, Rice and Griffin on the same team? That would be like the best team in the history of basketball.

I would trade more than just Yao for Shaq. That's knowing that Shaqs career would only last a few more seasons.

    Bury 3:
Having Francis who a 22 ppg scorer, Mobley who also averages 22 a game, KT who averaged 14 ppg, Shaq who is the most dominant player in the league, and Eddie an up and coming player. That could be the best team ever.

    1. A team with the current Glen Rice cannot be the greatest team ever.
    2. Either Mobley or Francis might not be able to make 22 ppg if Shaq is there. KT will definitely not make 14 ppg with Shaq there.
    3. The 1992 Dream Team will always, ALWAYS, be the best team ever.

I know that Francis, Thomas, andMobley wouldn't average that many points per game. I know that the Dream Team was the best team ever but I'm talking about best NBA team. But having 2 players that can score 22 a game in a season and are forces, having Shaq in the middle, and having KT would be incredible. Francis and Mobley would benefit from Shaq.
