Isn't that essentially what they did with Savage?

It's not an exact science. You either draft a QB high and devote 3-5 years to figuring out if he is it (or less in a lot of cases), or you luck into a guy with either a later round pick, or signing a free agent that rarely is available.

They managed him terribly and didn't give him a fair shake until they had no option left

how would you manage his brittle bones and soft tissues to get stronger?

    He was hurt?

He has made vast improvements from the last time he saw any game action (his rookie year). That's development.

Like I said...inexact science. And you don't really know what you have for 2-3 years.

I'd trade our first for Phillip Rivers.
Chargers haven't won double digit games since 2009.
Rivers is 35, so Chargers should be willing to move on.
He obviously is historically too much of a risk taker and throws too many interceptions, but would be a jolt in the arm of the Texans offense.

Tyrod Taylor will probably (team option and falling out) be available but not sure if you can afford Brock Lobster and T-Mobile.

Now Tyrod Taylor is someone who would be worth dropping a $72 million contract on. He actually has a track record of being a solid starting QB. Too bad we wasted money on Brock.

Hello no they wouldn't. QBs win games not DL no matter how great they are.

I think the Falcons are pretty happy with Matt Ryan right now.

I wouldn't trade anything anywhere. I would man up and trust that I can draft the right QB. Also I would use Clutchfans.

I don't know who Matt Ryan is but it's almost impossible for him to be a more losing player than JJ Fatt. So I would take the deal and run away. If not, just cut JJ Fatt - a losing player on a negative contract.

Yep, just go ahead and CUT a THREE time defensive MVP.

FTW is a result of being dropped on his head countless times as a baby and medicating himself continuously with the crack pipe.

Although this is not the time to trade Watt, the only way I would trade him is to get two more 1st round picks in the draft. Not for some other teams used up player.
Matt Ryan will turn into Matt Schaub the second he steps on Houston soil.
The answer to our QB problem is and always has been to draft a good QB.

Even though its not going to happen I'd say yes. Last week against the pats if we even had a half decent qb (Ryan is better than avg) we win that game with our defense which played without Watt.

This thread just highlights how 85% of this board is dumb as ****... good thing they're just fans and have no impact on the team.

Agreed. It's insane that more fans would not trade Watt for Ryan. Texans would be instant super bowl contenders after that trade

Remember I'm the one who said trade Ben Tate the season before he waked. I said to trade Andre Johnson 2 or 3 seaon before he walked. Even I'm saying now is not the time to trade Jj.

    No they wouldn't

Which is why I would do this trade in a heartbeat even if I was sure Watt would come back and be Watt after 2 back surgeries.
