1.) I dont think you know what delusions of grandeur are or you are not using the phrase properly properly. 2.) No one knows what Yao is going to be like when he gets back, and I am not some YOF, but its plainly obvious that the organization is still actively building around Yao operating in the post as the primary offensive play. You would be a fool to suggest they are counting on to be back 100% to his old self. 3.) Bosh would be great, Jefferson would probably be identical to Scola, and Dirk would be terrible here. Im not sure why you think I meant Dennis Rodman, ie a guy with zero offensive skills. This team needs a laterally quick lengthy power forward who can block shots, is quick to move and trap on double teams and rebound. He needs to be a good team defender, good passer and have a decent offensive game. Thats why Bosh is ideal, he is all of those things, but his offense is top notch and he draws a ton of fouls. The point is you need a guy who works well without having the ball. Dirk is not that guy.
Nah, he's been the enemy for too long. I will forever think of him as the guy with carl landry's teeth in his elbow.
This. Brooks Martin Budinger* Nowitzki Yao *If Budinger is in that lineup, no one would ever double team Yao again, since the other four players can shoot from anywhere on the court.
maybe we could get Stockton and Malone to come out of retirement as Rockets........... a girl can dream, can't she?
Maybe, but I'd have to know Yao was not in the picture, because we will need a garbage man to get those rebounds and neither Dirk or Yao is that sort of player.
Common sense says yes, it would be foolish to pass up a deal for Nowitzki. BUT, my Rocket Red Blood says it will be a cold day in hell before we welcome Dirk to Toyota Center. Would never happen anyway. Cuban would raise the stakes ridiculously high.
Guess who the 3rd "clutchiest" player is, behind only Lebron and Kobe... http://www.82games.com/0910/CSORT11.HTM
fg % not very useful: Dampier Turiaf would be no. 1 and no. 2 But I went and sorted it by +/-, then Dirk is second only to Lebron. Oh, and his FT % in the clutch is 98 %. Dirk not being clutch is a myth.
+/- are for lineups and arent useful in this scenario. He shoots a lower % in the clutch than he does normally.
