in all seriousness, i'd bet you $500 that Clowney does NOT retire as a Texan unless it happens due to injury in next few seasons under first contract.

Clowney is making me regret what I envisioned the Texans fix first...defense.

    We couldve done this...

    1. Drafted Watkins #1 overall (mightve gotten a lot of heat for this)
    2. Traded Andre Johnson to the Pats for Ryan Mallet and this years 4th round pick (plus conditional 2015 3rd rounder if milestones are met)
    3. Drafted David Carr with 2-1 pick

That would've been too smart. The Texans stray away from smart decisions.

    Unreal...

This reminds me of the Jeff George situation.

I am not sure what else Clowney needs to do to convince some fans that he really doesn't give a ****.

He mailed in his last year and this year as well.... Short of going AWOL, he has done everything possible to show that football doesn't matter if the check cashes.

It would be nice having Watkins at WR then a 34 year old Dre. Clowney better have a good year next year or we ship his lazy ass somewhere else.

I wanted the texans to pick Khalil Mack, thats the player I would've pick with the #1.

If we had, people would be complaining about how he only has one sack in 11 games and how he wasn't worth the first pick

well, the numbers might be different if you paired Mack with Watt and other players in the texans Defense.

Mack is in the running for rookie defensive of the year award, even without having the numbers.

maybe he wont win, because the lack of stats, just like Watt wont win the MVP, because of the texans record.

Or maybe he messes up his knee on the Texans' shoddy home field and only plays 4 games....

For what? His value couldn't be lower. At best, the Texans could trade him for another highly touted player who's done nothing as a pro to justify selecting them. You know, like Manziel. :p

At this point, I honestly would probably pull the trigger on that deal. Between Mallett and Johnny, you should have your quarterback of the future. Then, you can concentrate on BPA, basically, with your first this year. You know....since we have so many holes.

Clowney's upside is still ridiculously high.

Trading him for a bunch of average players makes no sense.

Taking the risk in drafting him was the right move IMO.

Yeah because every Texan has messed up his knee on this field.

Mack looks like a stud. Would have 5 sacks playing on this defense.

Y'all bozos wish you could trade him, then go back in time and take Bush over Mario and Fairley over Watt.
