Would you include Canaan in a trade for Gogi or Rondo?

    Gogi, yes.
Rondo? No. I'd only offer Francisco Garcia and Joey Dorsey for Rondo.

That receiver of both Garcia and Dorsey is one lucky man.

Hell yeah. Especially for Gogi. As much as I love Canaan ( you guys know how much I love shooters), he is always going to be limited to a Ben Gordon, Nate Robinson type player. Gogi is not limited. He can do it all.

They'd almost certainly win the David Kahn Award for excellence as a General Manager.

Rondo's FT% is 32.1% this season. This is pathetic on so many levels.

    He's a career 25% 3 point shooter.

So his 32.1% FT shooting is bad on a 3pt level?

    That makes no sense.

You asked what levels he was bad other than FT shooting, I pointed out that he's also a terrible 3 point shooter as well.

Mr. Clutch, the free throw averages of Rondo and Dragic over the last 4 seasons, including this one (and rounding off):

    Rondo - .55%
    Dragic - .79%

I think this is huge. Considering the abysmal FT shooting of an absurd number of key Rockets players, do we really need a point guard who would be yet another lousy shooter at the line? I know what Rondo brings to the table, if healthy, and if healthy, he'd be an enormous improvement at the one, but his injury history makes me very nervous. Three point percentages during their careers?

    Rondo - .256%
    Dragic - .362%

Now those are two areas key to the success of the Rockets when taking into account how Morey wants us to play. One can make other comparisons, Rondo's defense, superb, if healthy. Rondo's rebounding, excellent for a point guard, if healthy, being two off the top of my head, but those two stats jump out at me. I just think Dragic is a better fit, he has a good injury history, and he'd be less expensive, as well. Given a choice between the two, I'd take The Dragon.

And in response to the question, of course, although I'd hate to lose the Toy Canaan.

No for Gogi, yes for Rondo. That being said, I'd include Bev for either.

Why are you talking about shooting with Rondo? That's not why you trade for him. Offensive creation, defense and championship experience.

While Rondo's free throws are a concern, he has only averaged 2.7 per game for his career and has averaged 62% for his career.

He's also shooting 35% from 3pt in a small sample size so far this year, but I wouldn't expect him to take a lot of 3's.

His value will come in creating opportunities for others, defense, and rebounding.

My concern with Dragic is can he play off the ball? He is struggling in Phoenix after being moved into that role. If he's not scoring he's not doing much.

Is this a trick question? I like Canaan a lot (reminds me so much of Ty Lawson and/or Lowry), but if you can trade him for Gogi you do it and don't look back. Gogi is a lot like Lin was last year at this point, the difference is he is an above average 3 pt shooter (Lin is average to below average) and he is an excellent defender (Lin is below average) so while Gogi might end up having to adjust playing with Harden, he probably won't struggle like Lin because hey, the dude can hit spot up 3 pts just fine and he can defend ridiculously well. When Harden sits though, we can have Gogi take up the facilitator role and have Bev do what he does best, resulting in IMHO the best backcourt rotation in the league.

Rondo is a different matter entirely, when will people realize he is just a name at this point, dude is already broken and washed up. Defense? Rondo is a good defender but he isn't a lockdown defender, when did Rondo dominate guys like Steph Curry, Cp3 or even Derrick Rose? Playmaking? We already have Harden for that. Championship Experience? Jet has that covered. This team has no use for a guy who can't hit fts and has a broken jumper, how will he fit in a team that wants to clear the lane for HnH or spot up for open 3s? Not only that he also has health issues that is affecting his play, dude might end up sitting out the season the moment we go after him.

Do you realize you are concerned about Dragic scoring off the ball but Rondo has issues scoring even if he has the ball? If Rondo is getting only 2.7 fts a game that means he's not driving to the hoop, he's not taking 3's either since his 3 pt shot is wacked up so that means he's taking inefficient long 2's to score his points. With Harden and Howard both in the lineup you don't need another specialist creator, whatever benefits Rondo brings in terms of facilitating the offense is offset by his offensive weakness, the guy guarding him will just block the paint and dare him to shoot, limiting the spacing for HnH to do their thing.

Dragic struggling in PHX might actually be a blessing, his stock will go down and maybe his asking price will go down as well.
